Schill Is Back, But Is It Worth Getting?

I find that it's DPS is not that strong but it's still kind of fun to play. The guns citadel CAs fairly well. If you want to play around with a full secondary build, the range gets out to 11.5km. The torps are the good German torps... 8km and have good firing angles. It makes OK credits, too.

Schill is more of a rebooted P class cruiser, designed after cancellation of O class battlecruisers.

@@AmosDohms Technically yes, they're both in-line with using diesel engines for long-range cruising and for disrupting merchant ships, Schill is the opposite of that, she's based on a design with full steam turbines which means short cruising range and have limited uses outside of Baltic Sea had she ever build.

although her HP and general survivability are a bit worse, schill's guns boast similar excellent ballistics and armor penetration to t9 large/battlecruisers. This is especially notable at this tier, as the only other cruisers with guns of this size are Congress and Cherbourg, who both have inferior damage output and accuracy. And unlike the other two, schill has torpedos too.

The Schill is doubly nasty in Ranked. Forced close range makes this ship shine - think of her as an Ace in the deck in Ranked.

Thing is, this ship brings something else to the table. I'm at a point in the game where i'm happy to have different playstyles even if they are not mega meta op. I don't really care about "OPness" to be fair, having good games, taking good shots is enough for me. I really like graf spee for its unique thing, schill is same mood but 2 tiers up which is enough to have different experience.

Got a Schill way back last year as one of my Random Winners on KZbin. Yep, it's definitely like Admiral Graf Spee with MBRB still perfect. Perfectly recommend a Snipe shot range

I got schill by being ridiculously lucky when it was available in loot boxes, and we each got a "sample" loot box or two. While its dpm is technically low, it's effective dpm, by that I mean the shells that land on target and have an effect, isn't bad! Sometimes the entire salvo looks like it would fit through a doughnut. I have a positive win rate with it in t10 randoms, last time i checked. You can't treat it like an Agir, though. My biggest frustration with it is that it's tailored to fight larger targets, so fighting DD's can be frustrating.

I got this thing out of a container with a 1% chance or something like that a few months ago. Honestly Im tankfull to be lucky but then again Im very underwhelmed by the ship. It got a mediocore health pool for a ship its size and othermatcherble amout of armour. The guns hit so hard on broadside crusiers but cruisers only. The damage against battelships asspecially when they are angeled is dreadfull and even the hundered gimicks cant safe it. I can say its fun in ranked where dps doesnt matter that much but then again good luck fighting that Alaska, Riga and any Tier 9 bbs when theres no exclusive Tier 8 ranked. If you wanna dominate Tier 6 ships buy it for its unique playstyle on Tier 8 but otherwise you will have a better time in a balti.

I got Schill in a crate last year. I an unimpressed. 6 283mm guns with a 20 sec reload, the DPM is lackluster, and the reload booster is just not enough. If she had the original planned 15 second reload, I would feel better sailing her. But now, I don't enjoy sailing Schill. Prinz Eugen and Mainz are much more fun at this tier.

@@Percival7116 Seeing as ships that have been removed from sale are also going to be for sale during Black Friday(Jean Bart, Alaska, Massa) those are the much better things to be buying. Brisbane as mentioned by the other guy is free, there is ZERO point in buying it, sure you get a little extra reward from events, but how many events is it going to take to repay the price of the Brisbane compared to if you just simply bought it's value in say Santa containers. Meanwhile the removed from sale ships give you an experiences you can no longer get, making them the far better purchase.

The guns are quite frustrating, they technically alsmost have cruiser accuracy, exept most of the time. My best salvo yesterday was a 41k devstrike on a carrier, but for every good salvo you get 100 bad ones. Overall it's a decent ship, average objective performance isn't too bad, but it's just not that fun to play.

Schill is based on "Handelszerstörer" (Trade Destroyer) commerce raider projects, they're sorta resurrection of P-class cruiser, this is also after KM decide to cancel O-class battlecruisers and doesn't mean Schill is a P-class, their hulls, armament layouts and engine are completely different.

Which is why it’s so disappointing that AL Prinz Heinrich came in as… Prinz Heinrich, the tier VII BC. Did I still buy it? Yeah. She’s one of my favorite. Just wish that they did the proper thing and have Prinz Heinrich as a clone of Schill and not the battlecruiser.

Imo, Black Friday ships aren't worth it, in that they don't have access to alternative camo schemes ad the full version dhops fo. They're also separate from their full fledged counterparts. This means a premium can be buffed but it's black Friday version might not.

I just bought the ship itself. The guns CAN be fun, but that's about it. I get bad RNG and get set on fire all the time. That burn duration is terrible.

I got it when it came out last year. It's not bad if it's a T8 or T9 game but really struggles if it's a T10 game. It never should have been released as a T8 ship. Should have been released as a T7 ship.

Accuracy difference is massive. Cruiser vs battlecruiser dispersion with bad sigma. Also believe it or not, Schill has better DPM.
