Unlike the zao, DM is incredibly strong in the current game. It is a great ship in almost any scenario and has the power to carry almost any match. It also scales incredibly well in divisons.

They should changer borders to allow ships to cross into them but tick down health pool. Further over the border faster the tick. Last player to hit gets credit for the kill.

DM is strong when there are no CVs dumping on it, sadly in SEA server every game has a CV and it was a very unfun experience, so I just bring out Petro + DFAA instead.

desi is fine in a cv match, you just have to make it not worth the cv's time. most cv's avoid desis, and if they take a swing, pop the aa consumable, angle to the attack, pop the sector and let those aa guns make them regret it. most cvs like keeping their planes alive. so they'll leave a desi or petro or holland for last when given a choice. (of course the FDR is the exception) Desi is great, it's still the only ship i'll crack 200k damage in (other then the thunderer or the old style cvs), and i'll do that fairly often. it's a crazy strong ship

If you play static and in a position that's easy to punish (how most people default play DM) then sure, you'll get punished. As for CV population, it's been pretty significantly down since rocket changes... So there is that.

i loved the petro for the AA when it first came out but my god its HE is so bad and its AP has absolutely turd angles, unless your within 10KM of a ship your useless

Looking forward to the one take Nevsky! Also, would LOVE to see this kind of take on the t7-t9 worse ships leading up to these behemoth ships at tx. Ships that are usually considered bad or at the very least way worse than the end goal of tx. So like Tallinn springs to mind immediately, Hipper, anything before the brindisi, same with Ibuki, any of the t8-t9 gb ones (both lines get a lot of flak from i hear and read) and of course the USA ones. I guess it would take a lot of time and prolly a loooooot of effort, but it would be very interesting to see at least.

I still think if you take DFAA and you don't get a CV in the game it should auto switch to hydro where applicable.

Would be nice considering it seems whenever I seem to be getting about 2-3 CV games in a row I switch to DFAA and very "conveniently" I don't get a CV game more often than not.

Baltimore is a good ship in T8 and lower matches. In T9-10 matches it really lacks a heal. Buffalo is fine in current silver ranked (heal + more hp), Balti sucks there. DM is fought in CW for its insane all rouning capabilities

Yeah I'm on the Buffalo at this point, pretty difficult ship to play but it does have capability to shred someone to pieces. I figure if I can get used to playing a slug like a Buffalo I'll have an easier time with the DM

When the reload on your 203mm guns with reload mod, AR and Halsey almost reaches Gearing levels.... peak Des Moines achieved. But CVs just ruined that wonderful ship for me, so sad.

Getting hit by a DM at point blank broadside is the equivalent of being shot with a sawn-off shotgun. I learned that the hard way when I first faced one, thinking its floaty shells were a joke.

Everyone says zoa is weak but I just mesh with that ship was my first 10 if any thing could use a little hp but legandary build is so good and the stealth torpedo ability surprised a lot of bbs she is not a dpm ship more of a damg over time

With the US shells I usually aim higher than water line because of the way the shells drop, I've dev struck a lot of cruisers like that in NC, Monty. Balti, Buffalo and DM should have easy citadels on broadside cruisers

I like him on DM because I can also use him on any premium battleship or destroyer as well. I play DM more than most other tech tree american ships outside montana. I recommend you put him on whatever tech tree ship you use the most.

@@brextonridgdell8564 Des Moines Legmod (Enhanced propulsion) gives it a second propulsion module and a rudder shift module in one, allowing it to do some crazy juking (if you also equipped the 4th slot propulsion mod) if the player knows what he's doing.

Des Moines is my favorite cruiser but I like playing it as a kitting ship vs setting on islands. With good rudder shift and speed it can negate most all AA armaments and is a bitch to hit. Sometimes I will peg up on an island so long as there is no CV but its rare. Plus I dont bother with AA buffs and mods, they suck and the value they detract from other options is just not worth it from what I have discovered.

Not taking up positions on island if there is a cv in the game means never doing it these days haha. 1 cv and at least 2 bb that can use dive bombers and dd and cruisers that can launch carpet bombing squadrons. This shit is getting crazy and we still have no adjustments to AA yo compensate for all the extra planes around. Getting smashed by 2 or 3 squadrons in a halland and feels bad man

In the second match you did something we called as "pull out a Flambass" due to this famous youtuber who enjoyed this particular map and its gorge and is really good at it (he even carried a T8 match there in Leander once). Legendary captain there and I am really glad you did it, too. But you know you are responsible for lots of horrible teammates that are going to do the same and utterly fail, right? :D

Range mod imo gets you more into farming bbs from too far, I don't like it. Besides, it makes you more visible when firing. ROF mod + hydro for me.

So far Starlink is great for watching youtube/netflix (anything that can buffer) and for downloading & uploading files. Its not quite consistent enough for me to stream from, and any real time internet use (video conferencing, watching twitch streams) isn't great due to random disconnects. They happen infrequently but its enough that I use our DSL connection for anything that requires a consistent connection. I'm sure this will get smoothed out once Starlink is fully released, it's a beta so I can't expect it to be perfect 100% of the time. I really like it though and I'm excited to see it improve!

I've found the Def AA is a useless consumable now and waste of a slot. If I have the option to take something else I always do. I don't spec ships or captains for AA either as the CV's will always hit ye if they want to and going for an 'AA spec' is a waste I've found.

DFAA should negate a strike every time, I was in a ranked game as a Florida full DFAA against a T6 CV and he still got a few bombs off.
