Funny I use a gun boat Shima and it's surprisingly effective as the low detection and people done expect it as well as the torps are devastating regardless.

Republique, with legend even is amazing. You just remenber the individual salvos being bad, but once you reload this quick the damage adds up pretty well.

Repub is my 2nd most played ship with a 63% WR and I really enjoy it. You just cant let the bad salvos get in your head, you get another shot every ~20s so just keep moving and firing. Its honestly so much fun as a BB even if it is a little soft

Good vid. When you said this ship is ‘old’, I kinda got confused a bit; like, I started back 2017 (semi-retired 2018 ‘til now) and in my mind it is still a ‘new’ ship for some reason. 😂 For request, I request a fresh Yamato review; as in *NO legendary mod* or any other special things. Reason is I don’t find that kind of review, and I’m thinking of re-purchasing my first tier x ship but I do not have the time to aim for a legendary mod. I’m hoping to see how no leg. mod holds up at 2024 before I decide to purchase it over Conqueror (or maybe Montana).

Yamato leg mod is still quite strong. It's obviously not game breaking strong, but it helps a lot.

As I have said on stream, extending secondaries and running CQC makes for a lot of fun. 12.5km secondaries and ive gotten down to a 12-13 sec reload

I think you are spot on about consistency. I used to play almost exclusively bb's but over the last 2 years ive become much more of a cruiser main just because they can almost completely negate bb's tanking styles with volume of fire. The one thing bb's should have is that scary alpha and far too many ships get away scott free abusing broadsiding.

⁠​⁠​⁠@@EvoraGT430 specifically yes. I’ve played most of them with the optimal builds, and they just feel bad to play in modern warships. With cruisers getting more and more maneuverable and having lighter armor with smaller citadels, the large caliber bbs like Yama, Kremlin, Shikishima, Ohio, and Pruessen are just getting worse. Incomp gets away with it because of short fuse AP, but these days you really just want 406s or below when fighting cruisers. Just yesterday I played a few games in Monty and got 2 devstrikes against cruisers in one game, but when I swapped to Yamato I shot at cruisers whenever I could and got only overpens and some full pens. No citadels, and a lot of ricochet/torpedo protection hits.

"..the grind to get Republique is very bad though.." My friend, you must be remembering Lyon wrong. It's still a solid 7. Dispersion is shit, but not necessary when you fire 16 rounds. It's HE Trogdors other battleship's countrysides, and if cruisers show you broadside the AP spanks them harder than... *insert bannable celebrity joke(s)*. Richelieu is mid, and Alsace is the same, but when it was released they had to nerf it and then re-release an un-nerfed version of it as a tier X. I'm sure I'm too late to suggest it but, I would love to see you play Lyon again is what I was getting at.

PQ which grind do you think is worse Italian BB or French BB ? Personally i've only finished the Italian line of those 2, and the gun layout on the french BBs all the way till like Richelieu feels quite offputting if not outright behind the times technologically compared to other BB lines, they seem to go the really OG path of many smaller main guns, but wanting to sit almost full broadside. They are also not really fast which idk if they are meant to be but that seems to be one of the french things in the game.

Not the best bb for some but for me the fact it has this great velocity & reload that can rival some battlecruisers makes it a menace towards anyone caught unaware. Some AR, the fire chance reload buff, maybe a dev strike & you'll be seeing 16 sec reload or less, in arms race nearly 12.

The repu was my very first t10. The grind does not make any sense at all. I just started out and every ship from 6 to 10 was like a new experience. It goes from izmail style decent accuracy to super shotgun to less guns but much more range and accuracy to something that has secondairy potential and more guns more reload to less bigger guns with fast reload.

12:15 I didn't find the grind was too bad. the only one that I hated was T8. T6 was ok. I really enjoyed T7. I thought I would hate the T9 but it really wasn't too bad. I didn't like that the Repub was just so different from the line. It was a very weird line. I did grind this line like 4 years ago though so take that for what it is.

Not saying that there's not better lines, but I didn't mind the French line, especially from Lyon up. Having said that, I almost never play the Frogs. Didn't really understand the Ibuki going yolo into the only and most obvious lane for Shima to torp when you still have a 300 pt lead, no reason to hurry. 🤔🤔
