I couldn't imagine understanding physics WITHOUT KHAN ACADEMY 🥺🥺🥺🙏🙏🙏🙏I am so eternally grateful to have Ram sir for my 10th class physics and Mahesh sir for 12th one. Sir, Potential at point P is -300J/C, As you have mentioned at 9:52 that it would be 300J/C less than that of infinity. But when you said us to pause the video & think about it. I thaught Potential at point P is 300J/C more than that of Potential at infinity if I kept -1C charges at P. Is it correct or (negative😊)thinking?

so if a positive charge touches a negative charge then their potential energy will be -infinity? To me, this just sounds counter intutive because I thought potential energy in that case would be zero. Why can't we use the same analogy of positive potential that we use with like charges?

Bro, voltage is just the electric potential difference between two points in a circuit. It is just that the reference point changes from infinity to something like the earth (in the process of grounding). Everything else stays the same.

Sir I have a question when we have an electric field created by a charge q Aand there's a qB in point M we say that qB has a potential energy did this energy come from the external work we have to do to bring the charge from infinity to the point M or it's work done by qA on qB so qB gained a potential energy ?

Sir , energy can never be created nor be destroyed ..but 3:25 here you said energy decreases to 3 joules..from 11 joules.

It does not mean that the potential energy is destroyed, it only means that, it is the amount of energy that it exhibits in reference to that point. As sir explained in the previous video each object considering its given mass has its own potential energy but it will exhibit that in reference to some other point

the actual value of potential energy is physically insignificant; it is only the potential energy difference that is significant.

unfortunately subject is being made unnecessarily confusing SIMPLY PUT: Electrical "Potential" is merely the "Ed" bit of QEd or Electrical Pot Energy where E = Electric field or acceleration and d = distance. Electric Potential is also called Voltage or EMF. Similarly gravitational "Potential" is merely the "Gh" bit of MGh or Gravitational PE where G = gravitational field or acceleration and h = height Work is mere TRANSFER of Energy from one body (donor) to another body (receiver). CONVERSION of energy from Pot Energy to Kinetic Energy in the same body is not work since there is no transfer of Energy from one body to another body You are welcome.
