I watched how Black Sheep did it and it’s very sloppy and immature looking. This one does a great job.

I tend to have perfectionist syndrome when it comes to stuff. So, neat and clean is my method. This young lady does a nice version of Black Sheep house's technique. Kudos to Shannon of BSH for doing the research that went into this technique 😊

Why do you use 2 different paint sprayers? Asking because I want to start doing this myself. Love this piece. Also do you use the same cleaning and sealing top coat process for particle board wood vs regular wood?

Thank you for sharing! Especially the paint colours! Question; is there a brown you would suggest for diy glaze? I cannot find this product
@RebrushedByMaddison2 ай бұрын
@@lorih8937 this glaze is only sold at Home Depot, but the rustoleum “chalked” line has a brown glaze called “aged glaze” and that works just the same, other wise I’d mix together a cooler brown and some floetrol and make your own!
@lorih89372 ай бұрын
@@RebrushedByMaddison thank you for your response. Unfortunately, my Home Depot in Canada does not seem to have either of these at the moment. I will keep searching for the aged glaze. Thank you also for the tip about floetrol! Also, i forgot to mention that you did an amazing job! Dresser is gorgeous!

I used shellac poly on the top of a table and it doesn’t match. I’m going to paint it with antler velvet and use the Java brown glaze technique as you have shown. I’ve wiped back the shellac poly with mineral spirits and want to know if I should use BIN water or shellac based primer before I paint with the S.W. Antler velvet , etc. thanks
@RebrushedByMaddison10 ай бұрын
You can use either primer! I prefer water based bc it’s easier to clean up. But oil based can be used too!

Thank you for the fantastic tutorial! I am a beginner furniture flipper but am starting to take on commissioned pieces for clients. My most difficult part is knowing what to charge. Would you mind sharing what you charged for this dresser? And did your fee include the cost of materials or did you bill that separately? I just finished a piece that I feel I undercharged.
@RebrushedByMaddison8 ай бұрын
I forget exactly what i charged for this one. I want to say $450-$475? I include cost of materials, and my hr rate. Pick up drop is additional. I take my hourly rate that I decided on and estimate the hours involved, then I include Materials like paint, sand paper, hardware, primer, etc

How do you derive a price or charge for your work? How much for example, did you charge a client for this dresser?

If you do 2 coats of the paint, are you really doing 4? 2 for the outside of the dresser and another 2 coats for the inside edges of the drawers? If not, how are you opening the drawers to paint the edges while the paint is wet?
@RebrushedByMaddison3 ай бұрын
@@angieperez9685 typically I tape the inside of the drawers and leave them out slightly so I can spray the edges. If I missed any areas and I’ll take them out and hit the spots I missed. But if I need to move a drawer while it’s wet, I’ll touch the underside near the track or where I taped off on the sides. I plan to do a short where I show how I paint my drawers without taking everything out!
