The display cabinet you started with looked very dated, but the renovations you made to the piece make it now look like a very current style. Your project demonstrated a lot of interesting and useful techniques, such as the bendable wood panels and using pole wrap to replace the glass on the lower part of the cabinet. It looks terrific!

I know pole wrap is not cheap but even so the total savings is so great that to me is worth every single penny. Besides, I don’t see myself cutting every single little piece for this piece.

It would be kind of impossible to do it without him Shelley. When you add recording to the mix, it definitely takes two heads for certain things. I love getting my hands into things but my husband says I’m better at recording (shhhhh I kind of agree with him) so I get to focus on the recording when he’s around. And thank you! 😊

Pole wrap is genius. The piece is lovely. I’m thinking I might cover the large panels on my king size headboard with them. I think the panels are flat…. Hmmmmm.

@@aliferefurbished what type of glue would you use? I would need to scuff sand first for better adhesion of said glue? Would paint with Dixie Belle chalk paint.

@@toddylu6869 Headboards are known for absorbing body (head) oils so I would definitely give it a good wash with vinegar and water. I would lightly scuff sand too. Titebond II works great!

I have a similar one I’m redoing but accidentally broke the glass on one of the side doors. How can I best proceed? I have a bunch of cane rattan and pole wrap I could use but attach it to what? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

You could add half rounds to the inside and use them to attach the rattan edges to your piece.

Can’t believe someone would prefer a cheaper cabinet by removing the glass 😂 just to follow fashion 😂 it’ll be out of date in 2 seasons. That should’ve been kept a classic piece, so it was timeless, and maybe just updated the colours. No account got taste.

I actually have a home with an eclectic style with vintage and antique furniture.I definitely do my own thing. And in general I don't like glass, so this was a perfect update for our home.
