Hi Jon. Good high level overview. I would love to hear some of the less common “tips and tricks” at each stage to help potters who want to make high quality pots. I know you have these in many other videos but I could see a follow on video for each stage that is a complication of your best practices. As I have been practicing and connecting with potters I am picking up things like how they ensure smooth bottoms, how to avoid drips on kiln shelves, etc. one video for each stage that pulls this together could be awesome!

you could see about me .......avoid dripping : if you have a glaze that drips but with a expression jou love , dont change the formular ...the expression can get lost .....you must yourself ...think up ! a method that dripping not reaches shelve , and try out by firing , maybe again and again............

Jon, I love your videos and share them frequently. Thank you for producing them. Also loved the reverse throw snippet. As a beneficial addition, It would be nice to see the same sized pots thrown in each of the stages to see how much they have reduced in size after the bisque and glaze stages. When I first started, I didn't realize how much larger I needed to throw to end up with the right finished size. Do you do anything to measure them on the wheel for consistency?

Question: Is there a way to prevent the mold or discoloration on the bottom of my mugs and bowls? No one ever mentions the condition of their pottery after a number of uses.. Mine gets so dirty or moldy I need to sand it off with my diamond sanding sponges every so often. Thanks

@@justinedungo7706 if there’s moisture inside they clay still it can explode in the kiln, learned this in my ceramics class in high school, and it usually takes 2-3 days for it to become bone dry

I bought a cheap wheel. I have it set in my bathroom (its pretty crowded, to say the least) .... but cant complain of spending to much time in there to. it is messy but I am loving it even at every mistake I do. I van be frustrating at the beginning... but the best way to learn is hands on.
