Audrey, I'm so happy for you! As an FYI, when my elements gave out I stuck the half-fired cones in with the load, along with some fresh cone packs, and both read the same at the end of the refire. Now we know! I've been having my own issues with Chubs. I'm probably going to have to replace at least the tube of the kiln sitter, because he's not switching off at temp. But I have cones in and will watch him closely. We'll see in the morning how this load goes! Your pieces are beautiful! I love your delicate style on those vases. Well done!

How awesome of an idea to use the glass beads!! I have quite a few as well!! Can’t wait to try this!! The chip and dip is amazing!! I also LOVE the mushroom house!! Unfortunately you can’t use the cones again since they bend due to temperature plus time. It’s really interesting how they work. When fixing kilns I was taught to start with the cheapest fix first. Maybe your relays need replaced? I hope you can get it to fire a little hotter.

@@AudreyLynnStudios I’m not sure if the relays are the problem but it’s what fixed my kiln with these issues. I also have a manual kiln though so not sure. I hope it helps.

woo Hoo you go girl! It all looks great !!!!!....If you want to keep a chart of your firings you can get kind of an idea of when your Thermal coupler and coils are going to start going bad. Thanks for sharing your success"s too. Look forward to seeing more of your videos I just subscribed.

@@AudreyLynnStudios we saw the northern lights here in nz last night and it was spectacular 🤩 I’ve never seen them before and it was so magical, we could just see them in faded light with our eyes but if we took a picture they were so bright 💕🥰

Hi May Baby & Drippy Sista! Thanks so much! Wheefty, that unload feels better. I think in my excitement I forgot to tell some glazes. So, the Northern Light is one from Johanna at Dollface whom I credited in my last opening and forgot to in this one. I will go back and add her mention. She uses 2 coats of thinned down Obsidian instead of full strength. I think that may be the ticket. Then, I used diagonal wavy stripes on the top 1/3 2x seaweed 2x Sangria alternating. Then, it was underfired. Then I put one thin band of seaweed around the top and did the cone 5, 20 min hold firing. Right about here. I wish we could send photos in the comments! Hahaha! I like her method! The mushroom is 2x HF 1x RB and then 2x Deep Firebrick. I LOVE that combo. I am looking forward to seeing how it works for you! SO, just sayin', that I am thinking about you during these challenges that life has thrown your way. STAY STRONG!❤️

Ah, yes, one of my FAVOURITE combos! 2x Honey Flux, 1x River Birch, and then the band on the edge is 2x Deep Firebrick. Thanks for your compliment!
