Don't you just love Hoya's? I do. Just a suggestion, Jeff maybe next time you have the one leaf cuttings you could use a pot that is deeper w/a similar size pot opening/width. I say deeper because plant roots tend to grow down and if you don't add any soil at the bottom of the pot where those bottom roots are when planting your Hoya's, there's not much soil if any for the roots to dig down into. Or another way to pot them is to lay them on the soil and press them about an 1/8inch into the top of the soil and those roots will find their way down, I've done both methods myself. Just a tip. Thanks for another good video. Happy growing!!😁

I agree, hoya roots grow deep. The problem is find those types of pots. I did repot them and they are in today's video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6K4eIigmrKVopo

I bought a Hoya Princess last week she’s has some very long vines, I was thinking about propagating some of her. It’s almost Fall in Kentucky. Do you think I should wait till the Spring to propagate her? I always propagate with water. Your videos are so helpful. Thank you🙏🏽
@EverythingPlants2 жыл бұрын
Hey Brenda. You will be fine to propagate right now. I chop up plants year round. The plant you take the cutting from might not get any new growth until spring now, but your cuttings will be fine. Here are a couple videos of how I now propagate hoyas and most other plants....in a perlite prop box. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5mYfKuVqaesY5o kzbin.info/www/bejne/hISZhJqPibRqd7c

Hey Cynthia. I have only seen one vine per node at a single time, but I have propagated from the same node and another has popped out....now how many times you can do that I'm not sure.

Good video. Must the hoya stem be woody? There are some hoyas that have green stems. Can they be cut and propagated?
@EverythingPlants3 жыл бұрын
Ya, it should not matter if the stems ate woody are green. I believe the woody one may take a bit longer to root, but I could be wrong with that.

Hi how long do the Hoya roots have to be before planting in the soil? Mine rooted very quickly, first I saw nubs in less than a week, then I saw roots that looked like 3-4 ribs on each side. So as soon as see these rib roots, I plant. Ok, so like 1 or 2 weeks have passed since I put the cuttings into soil. I pulled on some of them, and they didn't pull out. The other one, the stem came out and all I see are these gnarly nubs everywhere ( it looks a bit like white mould but it's actually root nubs). I couldn't find the rib shaped roots so I've just placed it back in the water to root again.

I usually pot them up when they are about 1-2 inches or so

Yes hi there thanks for your video I was wondering you said two weeks to keep it wet damp or so is it two weeks or longer should I keep the soil wet after two weeks or what please help
@EverythingPlants2 жыл бұрын
After you pot the water props into soil I keep the soil well watered for the first 2 weeks (don't let the soil dry out). This gives the roots a chance to adjust to the more dense soil then start cutting back on the amount of water you give it, so like 50% dry then water until you reach the regular watering routine for that specific plant.
@tammyslack60702 жыл бұрын
@@EverythingPlants thank ! See I had root rot n my little Hoya so I re rooted like you did in water then planted it’s been about 3 weeks it looks good and new leaves it’s about 50 percent wet do you think it will be safe to let her dry out now and then start watering the way you usually do she’s in the house now so she takes longer to dry sorry to bother you again lol I appreciate it !!
