I'm very surprised to see Leffen, who's had controller issues, and hasn't practiced since LACS 4 and just came to have a good time, is in Winners Semis, meanwhile iBDW, who just came off a good performance at Genesis 8, sits eliminated just outside of Top 8

@@TheRealMallard I wouldn't say "top 3 no matter what", Pound and Genesis are proving that the "Mango-Zain-Cody tier" they were trying to establish last year doesn't hold up anymore and the current landscape is just Zain as a clear #1 with everyone else constantly getting upset (I looked at stats from LACS4, G8, and so far at Pound, and every single player who has an argument for top 10 has been upset in bracket at least once except for Zain, who hasn't dropped a single set all year (and Leffen but there's less data for him))

you'd realise how sick amsa is, a true pioneer. im not good at the game but the idea of playing yoshi doesnt seem fun because i would not be nearly as sick as amsa, while fox or marth etc u can do most of the essential stuff pretty easily

yoshi is a really hard character, it would take you a whiile before getting thoses results manage your expectations and enjoy the progress you make everyday, best way to get good at melee is to have fun with it

This leaves us with a situation: either zain's done his homework and beats leffen sheik (likely imo), then amsa faces leffen in losers and might have a chance. OR. Zain loses to leffen, and amsa faces zain in losers and well, its zain.

He's got a tough road. He's had close sets against fiction but hasn't beaten. Then if he wins that, he'll probably face Leffen who beats him pretty bad, but it's been a few years since they last fought, so we'll see what happens.

The issue is that he's already in losers and if he wants to win the tourney he'll need to beat a bunch of players including (most likely) Zain twice. And keep in mind that Zain has not dropped a single set this year yet and has only dropped 1 game this tourney so far (to Logan) so he's a gigantic wall in aMSa's path. I do hope he can pull it off though, that would be so sick (and honestly maybe even give him an argument for 2nd in the world atm)

I've been critical of Amsa in the past, but seeing all his hard work during the pandemic come to fruition in this tournament really is proof that yoshi can be a viable character. And if not, he's possibly the most hype, sorry Hbox.
