These are SO COOL! Even though the claws and eyes aren’t quite as “shimmery” when embedded in the resin, they are perfect! It gives them sort of a dark, stormy, creepy vibe, which I think works beautifully with the dragon theme. Love them!

They are Katy Sue moulds that are made for fondant and paper clay. I have then and they are fab! I have some resin tape you can put around the sides of the eye mould so the resin doesn’t over flow the edges. Never thought of using them to put into coasters though! Great video as always Julie!

Your dragon mold was the first thing I saw, looooooooove it, and now dragon claws and eyes. I love these ❤️ Follow up question: I’m not familiar with resin other than people can do some amazing pieces, so I was curious about something. You use black as a backer for these pieces and a few others I’ve seen you do, but could someone use white or a frosty blue to give them a frosted or winter look? I know, very restrictive look since it’d be snowy in a sense, just was more curious if that would work or if white would just make it flat looking.

You can use any colour you want the only reason people use black is because it gives the strongest colour result, I have seen people use a light blue/green chameleon pigment powder to dust the mould and use white pigment paste to colour the resin for a really cool icy look!

In some types of color shifting pigment, it'll be a different color over light colors vs dark. Like, blue over black, pink over white etc. And vice versa. They're sometimes marketed as unicorn or pearl pigment when meant to be used over light colors.

Hiya, not sure if anyone else has said this, but the reason there isn't any sides to the eye mould, is because it wasn't designed for use with resin. I t was designed for use with polymer clay and other clays. They are used a lot for note book covers. Love what u did with them though and u could maybe add some silicone around the edge of the eye mould to make it like a more traditional resin mould. All the best, Diane, UK xx

Flashing lights can cause migraines and epileptic fits, and other people just feel nauseous from them. Thank fully xmas is over for another year.

These are so cool. I just had an idea for the claws. I haven't finished watching though so I may have to edit my comment after. LOL! I wonder how it would look if the claws were all the way at the top like they are sort of reaching over the edge of the coaster? I'm wondering if they were there, that the raised bits might not be too big of a deal when setting a cup on them since they would be closer to the edge, leaving enough room for a cup?

They are real stones so its even mor cool. So for the 2 hearts, i’d just drop a couple of these neon rocks into the leftover. Just a thought. I think i need to make myself a KZbin page for all the tips.
