Hi. Since I was young I wanted to be a truck driver but I was never brave enough to do my driving licence. I was afraid to be outside for a long period. That's why I started with bus driving. I loved it. As I move to Germany I decided it was time to do my truck licence. So I did it. Being outside for a longer period wasn't a problem at all as I thought and I love what I do. To start Trucking you can first of all apply as a company driver. You should never start as a own operator. When you buy a truck and work for yourself you should understand and have some knowledge of what you're doing. I advise to work for someone first of all and then buy your own truck if you really want to stick to this business.

@@Youtrucker_pt but when you work for someone do you get a truck for yourself for the time being or do you need to share it? i suppose that would be a problem, at least for me

​​@@kekuusi824 I'm not sure how it works for Europe when you work for a company, they probably do switch trucks from time to time and share trucks with other drivers as I always see European drivers switch trucks a lot. But in the U.S. you are assigned to a given truck unless you they have you borrow another truck or rent out another truck for you if your main truck is in the shop. People here in the U..S. don't share trucks unless they are your co-driver. The bonus here is companies pay you more if you have a partner.
