I've been bearded about 40 years now. It's just in the last 7 or 8 years that I've really been taking care of it. I find myself incorporating a lot of your advice into my own beard care, whether it's products or routine. Never too old to learn. Keep up the good work.

I always enjoy the demo videos. When I use my heated brush, it’s typically after the blow dryer like you did, but with one small difference. I wait to use my cold shot on my dryer until I’m completely done with heat. So I’ll blow dry on medium heat, then use heated brush, then use the cold shot on the blow dryer to lock it all in. I wonder if you or anyone else has ever tried it this way? To me, it makes sense to use cold last, rather than using it and then reapplying heat with the brush.
@DanCBearded
@DanCBearded Ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with that at all! The beard will lose most of the cold shot benefits waiting though, because of the wait. If you wanted the most out of the cold shot, do it after blowdryer and again after heated brush

Since 1979, I have grown, and since being Santa with gigs since 2016 , have been working to perfect my beard for Christmas. It takes all year, and I am learning. It wasn't until you (Dan) told me to grow all of it, that I find I have my optimum density. The back really adds to the front. But the routine is everything, and especially in the awkward times. The only thing I have added, besides the oil is beard butter. After my shower, and blotting to dry my beard, I add the oil for the skin, and the butter to keep my beard from getting split ends. I brush from underneath forward, and then brush it down. I use heat on the sideburn area, and mustache. Since my mustache is frizzy, I add a wax, or it would be unruly for all day. Thanks, Dan. This is the best kind of help to give. I will never have a beard like yours, but that's what a beard hero is about, but for Santa, I don't think I am half bad.

Hey Dan. It’s been a minute since I’ve commented. I see your routine hasn’t changed much. Love the way the Chicago 8 glides through!! The beard looks a lot longer to me since the last time I visited your channel. I’m back to a business style but letting it grow out more. I wanted to be able to wear my t-shirts with band logos ect so I had to choose between longer beard and shorter but I’m thinking medium with some volume will work just fine. Good to see you buddy!!

Really liked your video. You must have practised a lot with the glasses I think before the final recording. I have a curly thick beard and the hairs of my moustache don't want to go to the side. I tried balm and wax, but just within a couple of hours it looks awful. I will try the heat. Doesn't to much heat or to often ruin your beard to much?

Hi Dan, I have been a 'stubble' guy for many years and have recently, about two months ago, decided to grow my beard. I am also new to beard care and your videos have been a huge help in understanding my beard, how to care for my beard, what sort of products to use and when to use them, so I have to give you many thanks and appreciation for your time and effort put into these videos. As an active person who sometimes trains twice a day, running and cycling and sweating quite a bit and I am new to this all, I do have a question regarding beard care routine and washing my beard. In your video's I have heard you say that you should was your beard after training and sweating. So my question is, would you still suggest washing my beard after each training session or is that too often or is there any other advice that you can give regarding this? Many thanks, Oliver
@DanCBearded
@DanCBearded Ай бұрын
Hey Oliver! With training twice a day, that is a more extreme situation. I would either rinse after the first training and wash after the last one. Or wash after both, but make sure it is a top quality daily/gentle wash. That will be extremely important!
