Two weeks since posting this video, and yesterday the Kingfisher was spotted here again. So that makes it three times in 2023. The weather has been really good for a couple of days now, so I might plan for a early trip here the coming weekend. Exciting!

Update almost one year later: The Kingfisher has been seen here again, but it looks it has moved a bit up the river. Further north! I have no idea if it is the same bird, but it makes sense. Been here a couple of times this summer, but no sightings what so ever.

Good to be out again! Hoping to go to a place where I know there is some cool rare birds in the near future. Do you use the Sony 200-600?

I had the Sony 200-600mm 5.6-6.3 G Lens, but it was just too big and heavy, not easy to operate or handle. Now I use the excellent Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens which are very compact and light weight, it is very easy to operate and handle, I can hike in the nature for several hours, just carrying the 500mm in my hands without problems, I can highly recommend the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Lens ! Sony should make Lenses like the Sigma in the focal length 300mm 4.0, 400mm 4.5, 500mm 5.6 and 600mm 6.3
