POV Drive: Lamborghini Murcielago (6 Speed Gated Manual)

Well, now that you've "driven" my TT Gallardo, Superleggera, R8, and Amy's Audi R8 I thought it'd be fun to let you get behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Murcielago as well! The car is much heavier and bulkier to drive than the Gallardo, but still loads of fun. Personally, I'd prefer it if I could only choose one. Simply Put: The Gallardo is a great daily driver. The Murcielago is a weekend car. You could get in the Gallardo and drive across the country no problem, the Murcielago, well, you might be a bit worn after an hour or two ;) At the end of the day though, nothing touches my heart like the Murcie. The Lambo doors, V12 roar, and overall presence put it in a league of its own. I thought it'd be funny to include the Walgreens stop in there. Gives you a better illusion of going for a drive and running errands, right? Haha. Mainly just wanted to show what it's like to get in and out with the scissor doors as a lot of people ask.

the problem for me with the 640 is its far to scary and difficult at the limit.... same as the sv, but the first generation is apparently easier when the grip is lost. also i think the murcielago is by far the best looking car ever made

Matt Reed The aventador seems too automated. The murcielago is a very easy to drive pure sports car. I haven't driven an aventador, but having driven a murcielago with a 6 speed, I don't care about the aventador.

The murcielago has a more streamlined and smooth design to the bodywork then the aventador. That's why I like it more at least.

Popnos I'm glad someone else agrees, the aventador does look badass, there's no question. But something about the murcielago makes it look super exotic to me, I see one and still think it's brand new and not almost 10 years old.

At first I could not put my finger on it, but I now think it is because and this may sound crazy, but there is too much Audi, too much cold and rational engineering in the Aventador. Almost as if the car has no soul. I like the Murcielago way better, more drama, way more Italian emotion instead of German (over)engineering.

I just drove a gated manual this past weekend a friends Modena I actually liked it I know technology now allows for quicker shifting through non manual cars but when driving a car like that a manual is just so much fun it really connects you to the car feel what it's doing and to me that's where the thrill is in driving these cars love your vids keep them coming I watch them all the time

THIS was a real lambo! That Open Gearbox is/was an emblem of Lambo! I miss that, even though i can't afford a lambo, nowadays the trend to ONLY offering automatic gearboxes just sucks! For me it doesn't matter if the car goes 0,5sec faster from 0-60, the feeling of having full control over a V12 engine and the satisfaction when you've shiftet perfectly can't being beaten by a faster automatic gearbox!

I think the best Lamborghini to have gotten has to be the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 with a manual transmission, the last and most powerful manual Lamborghini. Plus they're so rare because so many people fell into the semi-auto trap.

Phew, the wide angle of the GP3 is REALLY wide. Gotta love that sound! I tinkered with attaching a Rode shotgun mic to my iPhone and recording independent sound for a few videos. The GoPro's are great for pretty much everything except sound. Might be worth exploring, since the sound is so glorious. You showed a lot of restraint with your driving in this video. Not sure many of us could do the same! Cheers,
