In all reality, most houses, when being sold, look like liminal spaces. This is only due to the lack of furniture. It's also why ikea is so uncanny, the spaces feel so lived in but nobody is there. It gives you a feeling that someone *IS* there.

I have had real estate agents tell me things like (1) the steady stream of water running out of the water heater into an outdoor garbage can is "the way it's supposed to be", (2) a basement filled almost to the ceiling with what had to be literal tons of chunks of concrete would be "easy to clear out", and (3) a hole in the exterior wall of a living room large enough to drive a car through (which I assume is how it got there) was a "minor repair" and that any house in my price range was going to have "blemishes" like that. So, yeah, I find this dialogue pretty realistic.

@@FluffyDragonDrawing It's not. During the Backrooms' first wave of popularity, long before Kane Pixels' works, some folks came up with a whole extended lore about the Backrooms. They separated it out into different "Levels", and assigned specific monsters to each level, and expounded in _exhaustive_ detail about how each monster behaved and how to defeat them and- It was completely antithetical to any kind of Horror mood or atmosphere. Just people obsessed with creating _~lore~_ for fiction that really, really doesn't need it.

Wow this is truly astounding. This is the best property I’ve ever seen! I’d ask if it’s still available, but immediate after the tour was over, the building seemingly…. vanished. I guess that means it’s been sold off already. And I was really looking forward to buying the property… oh well. I heard that there’s an old IKEA building nearby that’s on sale. I’ll go check it out later with its real estate agent. Though sadly at the moment they’re finding a replacement for theirs though because their old one seemingly went missing. A shame really. Well I best be off! Have a nice day!

7:35 when we go to the “basement” You walk down the stairs, each step a little heavier with anticipation of what’s to come. You want to get out of there. You want this tour to end. You want to never think about this place again. Once you get to the bottom, you look around in horror. You’ve seen this place before. You’ve seen it online the internet, in KZbin videos of some very, very lost people with cameras recording it. They find strange and scary things, including monsters. Not one of them survives. You turn around and bolt up the stairs, and the tour guide comes up behind you asking what’s wrong, but when you come up the stairs, reaching the top, it’s the same place as at the bottom. You turn around to go back down the stairs, but the stairs, and your guide, are gone. Where the stairs once were, is nothing but the same dull moist shag carpet of a floor that was surrounding it. You have accidentally entered the backrooms Mediocre thing I wrote :)

I’m so glad about this purchase me and my friends are always having such a great time here. There is one small problem though when ever I’m sitting down or chatting with my friends I always am being told to free the souls from the corrupted vessels in front me. Usually I ignore them but I am getting a little more curious the more they talk to me. But over all it is a wonderful home and I can’t thank you enough. Thank you truly.

Bought the house yesterday and here’s my review The neighbor hood is nice The yard is a slight problem cause one of the movers collapsed and died because he forgot a gas mask The living room is nice with the soft carpet but I pass out when I try walking up the staircase The chair room was perfect for holding my boss hostage when he demoted me The bathroom I needed shoes for also when my roommate needed to pee he used the third urinal and turned into a floating ball of fingers that just sits on the couch and doesn’t do any thing but watch tv The “kids” room is nice I sold the children to some guy in a white van and new kids came in the morning so I got a infinite money glitch plus the pretzel smell is nice The hallway could use directional signs but I’m working on a map The master bedroom looks better then my old room and my new mattresses are nice they smell like lead The view is beautiful and I like it very much The basement is great for holding things also no one said I would have people constantly falling through the walls and ceiling but ÆÑĎÐĩÊ lives in my basement to deal with those pests The dining room has no kitchen but I made with what I had

This is genuinely such a good horror plot. A real estate agent trys selling a house to a small family, bit as the tour gos on, things start escalation, they got lost in the seemingly endless rooms, they gain and lose members of their party, until only one can escape. They find the front door, the exit door and open it. *It's just another room.*
