That was the very first thing I did on almost the exact same size he was on(maybe like 1.5‘ or 2‘). So many people walked me through it, telling me to lean forward over & over again while I just kept falling on my tailbone like 20 times in a row before finally getting it. Took me forever to go from 4‘ to 6‘. I had the loosest trucks in the park & rented full padding 😅 Craziest skate wobble I had ever experienced. Barely made it. I also much later did something similar on a gigantic hill in my neighborhood, hit a pebble & cracked my 💀. 😂😂😂

Honestly getting from the “new experiences” phase to the “good at it” phase takes a lot of guts, particularly in adult years. Especially when you are self learning. This goes for a lot of new hobbies, specifically any that might require practicing in public or anywhere you might be perceived by somebody else during that beginner phase, like for example learning a loud instrument.

@@ericcartman9594 I mean without that process you wouldn’t HAVE the new skills and new experiences, so I personally think it is a highly personal answer whether or not it is worth it, that may change from person to person and experience to experience. And I personally think that there is something for pretty much everybody that they think is worth it. Everybody goes through those phases of learning something new, regardless of age. It’s just less likely to be stigmatized or judged when we are bad at something when we are younger, but everybody has to start somewhere. If we refused to go through those phases then we would also be stripping ourselves of those experiences. So yes, learning something new can be hard and come with a lot of embarrassment or mistakes. But if you want to try something new or to have a new skill then you have to just accept those mistakes and keep pressing foreword. What is the point of life if we don’t ever try something just because it’s uncomfortable? Comfort is the thief of growth. And complacency is the thief of personal achievement. So yeah I think if you want to experience life correctly, it is worth it to experience this type of failure a few times, even as an adult, because how many of us know about every single skill we will want to perfect throughout our whole lives, and then additionally start as a kid on all of them?

That was me the first time I went to a skate park as a young girl, after about 5 times going there I was so upset because I felt like everyone was going to make fun of me if I fell so I did about nothing but the next time I went I built up enough confidence I asked one the the older girls if she could teach my how to drop in. After that I loved skating so much you just have to ask nobody will make fun of you when skating unless they are a poser because we all started somewhere
