POV Kurventechnik Legen - Yamaha MT-09ST - KTM 890 SMT (auf Pirelli Scorpion Rally) - Mariazell

Selten sieht man eine so schöne, sichere, respektvolle Fahrweise wie bei dem Fahrer auf der Yamaha MT-09ST hier in der Nähe von Mariazell. Kurventechnik Legen vom Allerfeinsten, kontrollierte und sichere Linie, respektvolles Verhalten um andere Verkehrsteilnehmer herum und richtig flott obendrein.
Während der allererste "Schönwetter-Ausfahrt" heuer auf KTM 890 SMT noch mit "Winterbereifung", den Pirellis Scorpion Rally STR. Also auch mit Winter-Rallybereifung auf der SMT kann man Fußrasten schleifen lassen... Gut zu wissen! : )
Sorry für den schlechten Ton - die Insta am Helm ist leider extrem Windgeräuschanfällig..

Hi. How do you rate the str's for fast ish road riding? You look to be going well on them.

I was actually very surprised by the good on road performance. I am used to S22s before and expected to be a bit more insecure on the STRs. But as you can see on the video it was no problem to keep up with a fast going sportsbike on sport tires. Also the SMT has rather high foot pegs and in corners with decent tarmac I started to scrap the pegs even unintentionally, just because the feeling and feedback of the tires was so good, that there was enough confidence. However with some wear on them - especially on the front tire, the performance/geometry drops quite a bit and it did not feel as good anymore. Well, I wouldn't rate it better than a sport or good touring tire, but you defenitely can do sporty riding on tarmac on those, when you are not off-roading...
