I used to run a 10 ft spread and I had a dump valve on the back axle. That way the trailer pivoted on the front axle in tight spots like this. Great job 👍

Gotta love tracks like Texas Motor Speedway which have the nice tunnels that give you a straight entrance to the pits under the track.

I certainly prefer a tunnel to a tight turn at a crossover gate. 🤣

@@MotorRacingNGravy I’ve driven into Texas Motor Speedway a few times and as a former Truck driver I would definitely find its straight shot a lot less stressful. Stay safe!

As much as I love race cars, the Haulers are so much cooler ❤. BTW: that’s luv for the rigs 😂 and the first time I was at Martinsville was Right after Hugo and I sat in NASCAR’s control booth… It was amazing!!!

I'm just baffled at the fact that some of these tracks don't have entry and exits that accommodate tractor trailers as easily. Granted, Martinsville is an older track if I'm not mistaken, but it shouldn't have to be near impossible to get in.

It's the oldest active track in NASCAR. There is an easier way in... The same gate, just coming from the opposite direction. 🤷 Don't know why they changed it up on us

It was good to meet ya, even for a minute. Lol, it was a cold wkd for sure for us campers. I was wondering how it was for you pulling in. I was watching how close ya trailer tires were to the door thing. Why didnt they have yall come in from the other road under the walkway bridge? I will upload my wkd at the track video this wk I hope. I wish the trucks would come back to Watkins Glen, thats the track I go to yearly since 2015 (grew up 30mins away).

Why the hell they don't make it wide enough for trucks beats me. Same for us dry van guys with some of these places we deliver to. But no exception for a race track.

Probably was adequate decades ago, but trucks & trailers have grown in size. @ one time in the 60’s 70’s, teams hauled cars on an open trailer & not much else cross country to/from Riverside long before before the interstate system was finished out.

With them talking about doing a lap, It would make for some good videos if they would line up the rigs and let them all do something like 8 or 10 laps before parking. .

Why would the track designers not make the opening larger to make it easier for the haulers to get in. It's in the tracks best interest to get the trucks in for the big money show.

Most of the tracks with difficult entrances were built decades ago when the haulers were much more modest in size, and in the case of the short tracks, it's not easy (or even possible) to alter it very much. So we have what we have🤷

We usually do come in from that side. We did it differently this time (I'm not totally sure why) ... And it for sure made it more difficult

The turn isn't THAT bad if you come in from the other direction. Not sure why the brought us in this way, but hopefully by the fall race they will go back to coming in the other way. 🤷
