Lori thank you for your educational videos! My mother is a diabetic and has gone to nail salons where they have cut her toes, chemical burned her, and cut the sides of her toe nail thinking it was ingrown when it was impacted. Since watching your videos I have been doing my moms toes and cleaning them up really nice without cutting her cuticles. Your techniques are very safe and effective! Thank you!

here's several things to try Test out a natural remedies for plantar foot. Something as simple as ginger root, which can be bought at your drug store, is a great anti-inflammatory. Ginger root is in a group of plants known as Cox inhibitors. This means they prevent inflammation naturally. Another natural remedy for pain is Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme got from pineapples. just drink the raw juice or eat raw pineapple, you can gt advantage from the properties of Bromelain. Enzymes are one of the top remedies for pain because they are all natural and are what your body uses to cure inflammation (I read these and more tips on fergs foot formula site )

Their feet can not be tense. Many times people will try to press down with their toes and that puts pressure from the nail onto the skin under the nail and eliminates the space you need to get the tool under the nail. My clients have an extreme sense of trust with me and rarely need to be reminded to relax their foot :)

To all of the ladies on here complaining that she (Lori) doesn't wear gloves: GET OVER IT. I'm a guy. I work with my hands. I'm always touching dirty engine parts, dirty tools, greasy and oily rags, and chemicals used for cleaning. And I don't wear gloves. I used to work in a 1 star (Michelin) restaurant in NY city. In the kitchen. Do you think the chefs and waiters all wore gloves? NO. And they were touching raw meat, fish, and raw mushrooms. Which is a FUNGUS. It's called washing your hands. Done properly, and often, you can go from touching a rebuilt engine or raw duck meat to grabbing a potato chip from the bag with no problems. It's been done for centuries. Look it up.

It's obviously an American thing. This would be totally unacceptable in the UK. For those who said I'm giving her a bad time that's NOT the issue. She does a brilliant job. @trellabella16 жыл бұрын
To be clear about no gloves being an “American thing” as long as the technician and clients hands/feet are sanitized it’s completely legal here in the states....however there is a preference here let’s be clear we’re not a generic country people have preferences here like anywhere else... not every technician goes without gloves and some people prefer gloves....this amazing technician prefers without because she’s able to feel exactly what she’s doing better...which makes sense seeing how she specializes in repair and restoration of the nail...this isn’t a regular everyday pedicure she’s restoring health to peoples feet....I’m just saying 🤷🏼♀️

There was no way any form of life could survive let alone grow in it. You have to submerge your tools in a hospital grade disinfectant for 20 min to kill any bacteria.

I do notice you dont cut stright across as we were taught too?
@meticulousmanicurist7 жыл бұрын
One of these days I will film the video on the many safe ways to file toenails. If I can give you a quick explanation, it is safe to mirror the attachment point of the nail plate to the nail bed. If the client has super deep nail grooves don't trim off too much into the corners. Most people have zero chance of ever getting an ingrown toenail and I will explain that when I film the video. Have you ever asked, "why is it safe to file fingernails into any shape you want but not toenails?" Square toenails are the most unattractive to me. Way too masculine for any female to wear on their feet in my opinion :)

You mentioned the client had fungus on the big toe. Could someone then get fungus from the brush used with the nail polish? Just curious! Thanks! Love your videos.
@meticulousmanicurist7 жыл бұрын
+Corrie Russell There is no chance of spreading fungus from the polish brush. Fungus isn't that easy to spread in the first place. People who have fungus on their big toe don't even spread it to their other toes. I talked to a scientist from the university of Michigan, and asked if he could test my bottle of basecoat to make sure it was not contaminated. He said he could but assured me there was no way fungus could live or grow in a solvent environment. Fungus has to have all the right conditions to thrive. You can not catch a fungus from someone from touching it either :) I am so glad you you like my videos I appreciate your support. People are either going to love or hate the one posting tomorrow night!

Oh I wish I could find someone here in Phoenix Arizona who does a great job like you do. my last experience was a total nightmare. I went to a place called Nails U Luv at 1703 W Bethany Home Rd # L3, Phoenix, AZ 85015 for the first and last time in my life. I'm the type that never writes bad reviews my review is still there with everyone else's. I didn't add that the little Vietnamese woman denied not giving my the full treatment I paid for. $35 Pedicure.... no dead skin removal targeting my heals, no mini massage, she didn't push my cuticles back, I practically begging for her to trim my toenails she said that toenails look good long. heck mine were overdue for a trim. she then tried to charge $50 from my debit card ... I asked why and she said that she asked me if I wanted to leave a tip that I said yes.... I never said that I was also if I liked her work and I chose to give a tip I'd give her what I want not what she wants. She even kissed my 4 yo granddaughter in the mouth... I washed her mouth while my family member fixed the incorrect payment amount and said that we are never going back there again. I want to find someone here in Phoenix as professional as you are... most places the Vietnamese people don't quite understand what I want less understand what I am saying. I had a very clean Vietnamese guy nail tech for many years he moved to another state a few years ago. Question is pushing back the cuticles and removal of dead skin on a pedicure part of the deal? I understand that not all techs know how to remove an ingrown toenail
@meticulousmanicurist7 жыл бұрын
+Connie H. Segundo Unfortunately, when you get a pedicure at places like that, they do not give a full pedicure. The old saying you get what you pay for, this is a perfect example :( They charge less to get you in the door and then only really do a polish change. It is sad. I hope you find someone but you will need to find a regular salon.
@MissConstanceMcKenzie7 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. I'm usually satisfied with a $25 pedicure relieving my ingrown toenail like in this video I'm like the seniors who can't bend to care for my own feet, that last place I told you about had warning I didn't read about until afterwards. from now on not only keeping an open mind (people do write reviews when it's not necessary) I'm reading reviews beforehand... I wouldn't mind paying $50 for a good pedi. I always give tips but not that time... I'm still looking for a regular salon that works for me. By the way,I love watching you remove ingrown toenails 😃
@Baby-Ghoul4447 жыл бұрын
so i have bad cuticles and dead skin and i got some cuticle remover and it works nothing like this! it was able to let me push them back without pain but it was still attached. what should i do? i never cared for my nail cuticles before but now i want to start having pretty nails, but im scared to use cuticle clippers, i ended up using them so i didnt have hanging dead skin and i know a lot of people say not to do it cuz you can hurt yourself ( and im clumbsy ) i want something thats gonna melt the nasty dead crap off like this D8 what kind of cuticle remover do you use? am i using it wrong?

No disrespect intended in this comment, as I'm sure people ask you this a lot, but why do you choose not to wear gloves? I'm a current cosmetology student and am just wondering, wouldn't wearing disposable gloves require less washing afterwards? Thanks!
@meticulousmanicurist7 жыл бұрын
+Maggie Schuerman Washing your hands after every client should be a habit even if you choose to wear gloves. Wearing gloves does not feel good for the client, you can't feel properly and they are slippery. You can't grip any of your tools properly so you can slip and cut someone very easily. There really is not a benefit to the tech in my option because washing hands afterwards kills any germs you may have acquired. I want my client to be happy and I want to have complete control when I do my service. You can scroll through the comments and read the many other responses I have answered about germs as well. Thanks for the polite question 😌
