Back in 1999, my parents got me a PS1. I was so happy and excited and I got so many games like Spyro, Xena, Driver... Silent Hill was among the collection. The printing on the CD attracted me to try it. I was little but I was able to play it and solve the puzzles, sometimes it was hard for me to figure out what to do or what's next! So I had to look up the solution online on websites, then I print it and give the papers to my little brother (I was 8 and he was only 5 ❤️), he read the steps and directions and I followed him. It took us around a week to finish this game with the different endings, it gave us so much horror and nightmares that at the end of the day he would crawl to my bed and sleep next to me :') Wow what a great warm memories!! Wish I could experience these days again 😊

The Horror game that genuinely scared me. After that Final Boss, the unnerving atmosphere, and the overall tension of surviving. The result screen tells you one message which is that "The nightmare is over...*for now*" and all you can do is chill and reflect from a masterpiece.

Don't remember about 3 and 4, but this and 2's ending screen are funny to me, the games are so minimalistic without UI, made to scare the player and focused on the story, and then it ends showing Ranks, points, distance traveled, your shooting stats, your boat top speed, and other videogame stuff, gotta love the contrast.

i remember i play silent hill 1 on the psp for the first time in 2010 when i was 17 throughout the whole winter season in nebraska on the third floor of my house nearby a cemetery when this came on after i beat the game it was an atmophere i had to take in and will always remember that teenage part of my life.

There's just something about that game result screen and theme that just take back to the summer of '09 when I first got into Silent Hill. Just sitting there telling myself the horror was over... Then moving on to Silent Hill 2 lol good times.

08/18/23 Update: I totally forgot I posted this about a year ago and it blew up. (to my standards lol) I made this shitpost shortly after beating Silent Hill for the first time (With some guides to get the Good + ending, yeah I know.) on my PS3. My friend's dad had an Old ass CRT TV in his attic that he didn't want anymore (The background is a photo I took of my own screen when I first played through the game) so I took it home and thought it would make for a fun first good playthrough of a game like Silent Hill and boy it sure did. Whenever I finish and get around to the rest of the series, I'll probably make a similar shitpost. Take care, everybody.

I recently have been playing the games for the first time. They aren't perfect, but are still amazing. Seeing the credits of SH1 for the first time was hilarious. I unfortunately got the worst ending for that one. Wanted to go back and get the good end but I didn't really feel the need to replay; I rarely replay games anyways. The second was superior in so many ways, it's hard to say its not amazing. I just played 3 and while it's the weakest I feel so far, it's still great. There's something special about these games, I've realized. It's a feeling I can't put into words, but it's like you watched a film that you've always seen references and homages to and realizing how good it is. Like understanding a good joke or something. I'm looking forward to the remake and other new titles. Till then I plan on playing the entire series; The supposed "bad games" as well.

doubt you can grab og hardware, what i remember silent hill 1 and 2 are selling for way too much for disc. Emulation is probably the easiest way to go in that regard.
