I read your comment and it automatically made me think of another song which feels exactly like what you said : the breaking-point where the villain snaps! If you want to listen for yourself, it is by Gabriel Fauré - "Requiem in D minor, Op.48: 5. Agnus Dei" , the piece is quite long but the build up from 3min04 to 3min43 (the best part starts at 3min27) is an absolute masterpiece of classical music, and really a song to "become-a-villain" to !! 🤍

The young woman didn't care. All she knew was the red on her face and hands. She knew the crimson warmth at her feet. This, this was something she could control. Curses weren't meant to be broken but fuck, she was going to break it. A grin spread wide across her face as she pulled her battered body up from the tile floor. The woman staggered for the door, not even bothering to look at the bodies of her once beloved behind her. Hell was real, alright. They wanted a demon? Now they've got one.

I stared at Simon, now dead at my feet. At first I didn’t register what had happened and those few minutes seemed to stretch for all eternity. He's gone. Forever. I felt empty and numb as those words flitted into my mind, over and over. The realisation of what Silver had done hit me like a truck. I played the scene in my head again, feeling like a volcano on the verge of erupting. I whipped my head around, searching for the person responsible. “SILVER!” The voice which came out was a toneless guttural cry, as gravelly and penetrating as it was gruff. Silver looked at me in alarm, my once gentle voice and sweet words now becoming a terrifying lament of anger and grief. “THIS WAS YOUR DOING. ALL OF IT. THE ARGUMENTS, THE WAR, THE BLOODSHED. ALL BECAUSE YOU REVEALED THAT MY FATHER WAS A DEMON. NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU HAD KEPT THE IDENTITY OF MY PARENTS A SECRET.” His eyes were wide, terrified, as I began to move towards him. My teeth were sharper, fangs forming in my mouth as my eyes began to glow. For a brief second, I smirked. I wasn’t the demon king’s half-daughter for nothing. Silver tried to run, his hands trembling. “Lucie, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I just thought it was a bit of fun, I just wanted to cause a bit of drama!” “SO TEARING FRIENDS APART WAS YOUR IDEA OF FUN? LOOK AT HIM.” I gestured towards Simon’s body, “SIMON’S DEAD!” I used my magic to grab hold of Silver and I dragged him close to me. “Simon’s dead, and you’re going to pay.” I breathed. Tears ran down my face as I streaked upwards into the sky, still holding Silver tightly with the force of my magic. He shouted in alarm as he was suspended in the sky, dangling by his legs. For a second, as I flew through the air, I glanced at my reflection in the lake. I looked nothing like the girl who had been sitting by this very lake just a few hours ago. Twisted horns had formed on my head, a small crown made of thorns and silver now nestled in between; glowing red eyes and huge, leathery, bat-like wings rested on my shoulders as if they’d always been there. I felt the void in my heart, in my soul. The one Simon had always seemed to fill with his joy and optimism and humour. I realised, as I looked into the vague reflection of the broken, manic half-demon girl in the lake, that he was the only thing keeping me sane and human. Now that Silver had torn apart all of our lives and taken him away from me, I knew I would never be the same girl I had been when I was around Simon. I would always be worse. I laughed and dropped Sliver into the lake. My mouth twisted into a deranged smile as he tried to swim to the surface, coughing and spluttering. Grabbing him again and raising him higher and higher, I dropped him in there again and again, his pathetic attempts to escape simply amusing me. I was filling my emptiness and numbness with the suffering of a weak little human. I guess it was the demon in me which had compelled me to do it. After a while, I got bored and pulled him out of the water, dropping him onto the grass and watching him gasp and cough. “You’re insane.” he gasped, “Lucie, stop with this madness. Please.” I landed gently down next to him and folded my wings. “What if I don’t want to stop?” I asked, smirking. “What if I like being insane?” He looked terrified at what I'd become. Good. He was the one who had pushed me over the edge and broken me like a cheap plastic toy. All for a bit of drama. If he wanted drama, drama is what he would get. “At least if you’re an unhinged, evil and sadistic demon-princess, you can’t really get any worse than that.”

“M-MONSTER! THE MONSTER IS STILL ALIVE!” Several soldiers stared up at the moon in horror as they saw the cursed winged creature flap its godforsaken wings under the moonlight, casting its shadow over the battlefield. The King grabbed his throat, coughing over and over as he choked at the sight of you. Sweat beads rapidly formed underneath his jewelled crown and dripped down onto his horse. His eyes were wide open, too nervous to blink once in fear you might appear before him as he recalled how terrifyingly fast you were. He was so certain, so very certain, that the men he sent to assassinate you had done the deed. Not only did they retrieve your wings but the clearly distinguishable pair of horns you sported. They could not be mistaken for any other. A specific shade of jet black with several indents spiralling down your curved horn. And those dents were laced with magic as you once shared with him. “How do they do that?” the young Prince at the time asked as he stared at your horns as they glowed in all their grand glory. The warm orange hue mimicked the light of that of a candle, lighting your path as you stepped on the lily pads of the lake. Smiling at his curiosity, you turned back with a look of cheek. “Magic” you whispered earning a gasp from him. But it only made you burst into laughter, your wings fluttering and taking you into the air as you giggled at his shock. “It’s not very surprising surely? Would you take a look around Arthur! The very place your lay you feet is blessed with the most ancient of magic!” “…well my dear this remains incredibly strange to me. It is not normal you see.” he chuckled watching you float down. Your eyebrow twitched at his comment. “Not normal? How do you mean?” Before answering, he waited for you to come to him and lay in his lap as per usual. Preening your feathers earning a little sound of comforting pleasure from you, he inhaled before answering. “As I return here to revel in your beauty, I look around this secret forest. It is indeed a special place. A place of mystery and magic. Intriguing yes, but not natural in the slightest. Humans with wings, trees that have thought of their own, flying flowers and lily pads, distorted beings that utter a foreign language, this is not normal my love. I will show you soon, do not worry your pretty little head about such.” “Fall asleep in my arms my love, I shall wake you up to your favourite rise.” But you only woke up in excruciating, dreadful, unworldly agony. You woke up stripped of your pride. You woke up just like the humans you were taught to detest. But now you did. You did so much. You hated them, no- You wanted to eradicate their very existence from history itself and now. “KING ARTHUR” Your voice boomed dreadfully loud despite how far up you were in the air. The soldiers almost instantly felt shock electrocute up their spines at your beckoning call. Silence filled the battlefield and this only fed your growing hunger for vengeance. You swooped down in the blink of an eye only to immediately stop a mere centimetre from the Earth. The men gripped the reins of their horses in fear of the control you possessed over your movement. How well you controlled your flight was terrifying. Every man held his breath as you hovered past them and their petrified horses. You refused to touch the ground of the humans. Not even with the tip of your toenail were you to allow yourself to contact their dirt. Your glowing emerald eyes finally settled upon him and his stupidly shining armour. How pathetic. So fancy, so ridiculous. You scoffed to see him covered in head to toe with what was most likely the best made armour in all the land. But it was being worn by all you could determine to be a sweating, trembling little man on top of a horse too big for him. “Surprised to see me, Your Majesty?” you spat the latter of your sentence. Finally mustering the audacity to peer up from his saddle, he gasped seeing your eyes again. They were filled with so much malice they were unrecognisable. He looked from your hovering feet to the tip of your curved horns. You were the same. But your malicious intent made you seem like a completely different being. Inhaling, Arthur gripped his reins preparing to shout to his army. “THE MONSTER HAS RETURNED! SLAY THE BEAST FOR THE SAKE OF OUR KINGD- !” “HIS MAJESTY HAS BEEN TAKEN BY THE BEAST! SHOOT YOUR ARROWS!” The pathetic King screamed his lungs out as you suddenly shot towards him and carried him with merely your tight grip on his collar to support him from the fall. “D-die you neanderthal!” the King panicked attempting to stab you with his dagger. You however scowled down at his eager attempts only to toss it away with your other hand. “You foolish, foolish man” You loomed down at him from the moonlight, your hair blew with the wind only to highlight your freakishly wide glowing eyes, those like of an owl. “You insulted my people. You insulted my being. You stripped AWAY my wings and horns and now further dig your grave by labelling me a ‘monster’? A ‘beast’-“ “- BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE! THAT’S WHAT YOU ALL ARE! UNNATURAL! INBRED! DEMONS! If all of you were at least pleasing to look at I would have made an exception but-“ He hacked blood as you clawed your way through his armour with your bare hand and dug into his chest. Your talons only grew in size the closer you got to his tirelessly beating heart. “Y-Y/N” “DO NOT SAY MY NAME!” you bellowed to the point all of the kingdom heard your howl. “YOU ARE THE BEASTS! YOU ARE THE MONSTERS! WE DO NOT NEED YOUR APPROVAL OF WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL AND WHAT IS NOT!” The soldiers peered up as they watched their precious monarch barely dangle from your clutches. The rest of the Kingdom could make out a flying figure in the midst of the moon and listened in on its words. “YOU ARE ALL WEAK, ALL FRAGILE, ALL PATHETIC.” The King writhed in agony and fear as you let one of your fingers slip from his collar resulting in him suddenly growing inches away from his demise. “LOOK ALL! LOOK UPON THIS SCENE! THIS IS YOUR GREAT KING!” Another finger slipped and his shrieking continued. “YOUR KING HAD INSULTED MY PEOPLE! ATTACKED MY PEOPLE! SLAUGHTERED MY POOR PEOPLE! AND NOW THIS AS YOU SHALL ALL WITNESS IS RETALIATION” Another finger slipped and this time the desperate King had grabbed ahold of your arm earning a wince from you. You glared down at the burns and steam that emanated from your arms and his iron gloves. Yet you ignored the dreadful pain and pulled him closer now with both your hands gripped onto his collar. He breathed a sigh of relief until he looked into your eyes. And In that very moment he saw a glimpse. He really saw you. All your pain, all your malice, all your anger, it was all so very alive. But the furrow of your brows, the trembling of your orbs, he finally saw you. He saw the you he had fallen in love with before. The trembling little winged creature that felt emotion like no other. At the very bottom of your violated heart, he saw how scared you were to fly again. How scared you were to do any of this. You flinched as he stripped his gloves off and held your arm with his soft touch. Your eyes loomed down at them, then slowly back up to him. “My love, you not need do this. The shaking little innocence remains locked away in your gaze at me. I see it. I see you.” he barely managed to say at the feeling of blood gushing from his chest. “I forgive you my dear. I can forget about it all if you come back to me-“ He screamed out in agony yet again as you shoved your hand so deep into his chest you were now gripping his rapidly beating heart. Blood rained down onto the soldiers and now they too were shrieking like baby birds. You brought his writhing face to yours, forcing him to look him deeply into your eyes once more. “To the very end you remain a foolish human man. I don’t need your forgiveness. I don’t need your touch or your love. I need your brains to decorate the disgusting dirt you claim to be your kingdom. I need your soldiers to scream like mere babes at the sight of their dead monarch before them.” “I need you to die.” “You have hurt me like no other has. No one before you and no one will after you. Feel honoured Your Majesty-“ He flailed his limbs aimlessly as you stretched your arm out, earning a good few screams from him as you let all your finger slip except from your pinkie. “- you will be the last lover of my very long life.” “You fucking ABOMINATION-“ “You tyrant”, you evilly snickered before shaking off your smile to return back to your owl like stare. Like a flash, Arthur suddenly watched the moon grow further away from him. He watched you mouth the very words he had dreamt about fall from your lips. He cursed his life that day. He cursed you as he fell back away from the wings he now wished he never drew curiosity from. With every breath he took he uttered a damned curse in hopes it would reach you. But all it did was seal his fate once he came crashing to the ground. You watched in pleasure as the former King fell down to his death. It was finally over. You had avenged your people. Despite this, you knew you had much more to do from now on. But in this moment , you flapped your great horned wings to turn up to the moon, you bathed yourself in its light as you reminisced your final words to him with a smirk. ‘Long live the fucking King’
