Hey. You're looking really good over the hurdles. One suggestion though is to move your hurdles in even closer than race spacing (maybe 1-3 feet). I'm guessing it's early in your season so there's no need for full spacing. Also having someone run next to you to race in practice is really helpful. I run a 17.57 rn hoping to break into high 15s this season despite injury. Good luck this season!

@BYELYK2 ай бұрын
u need at least 2 days of rest so 5 days max and id say 3 day training at least during off season for good growth, but 2 is good enough to stay in shape

My pr is 16.62 I just missed states this year unfortunately by 2 spots, but next year I’m tryna get into the 15’s by my first race. I struggle with the running in between part of the hurdles, it may be cuz my 100m is only 12.29 but I’m really trying to get a quicker time. What’s your biggest tips

Also you could discount during practice, moving the second hurdle and third hurdle and on, one foot then two feet for each in front of there normal positions

any tips with arms everytime I go over the hurdles my arms always stick out
@BYELYK4 ай бұрын
Really emphasize keeping your arms in tight during the drills and try to keep that same feeling over running over the hurdle. This happened to me all the time
@lzWind4 ай бұрын
Something I did, buts not for everyone, is I’ll swing my trail arm the entire way behind me as if I was coming out of blocks, then I’ll have my lead arm rotated as if I was looking at my watch and stretched trying to reach my lead legs foot, just don’t smack it, that will through you off balance. Such a stretched out form will make you have to pull it back quicker, increasing speed in general.

@awesomedude3247 if you really focus on just running and not form during the race you’ll get 3 step down. U Just have to trust all the practice u put in for hurdle form prior to the meet. Good luck man
@lzWind4 ай бұрын
@@omorxfe I would also try to three step the first hurdle, if you get enough speed most people can three step at least the first, I’m a freshy and three stepping the first hurdle took one second off my time. Another thing thing you can do to three step is discounting the hurdles during practice bc the adrenaline isn’t there, move the second hurdle, the third hurdle etc, one foot then two feet etc, in front of there regular spacing. This helped me three step, the adrenaline will carry you through the race
