This is what it's like to work as a FedEx ground driver. I'll be giving you a first person point of view delivering packages and going through my whole day as a delivery driver. I'll take you to my businesses, go to loading docks, deliver residential houses, and even go to a yard sale.

This was a really cool watch. I do contracted work with an outside company doing "last mile del" usually more than a mile tho, our runs looking at around 200/300 packages spread across few guys... biggest difference for us is we use cargobikes. And we don't get route planning :( On average on a day I'll do about 50 to 80. Pretty great job. And somewhat saves the planet ✌️

I see this all day everyday. 6 days a week. Just came to say that it's to bad that there isn't a way for people to feel how hot it is in those things and how little air we get even driving around with both doors open. I almost a had a heat stroke 3 times last week.

That’s crazy! I thought y’all were lucky to have no doors. Also my tip; bring a cooler with ice and it will keep your water cold all day. Life saver, just by ice from the gas station
@Onyx_Games
@Onyx_Games Жыл бұрын
@@Hohzaye I've tried all kinds of things. Nothing really helps or works. As far as drinks go though, I usually will stop at a gas station and pick up some cheap cold waters to dump on myself and get some iced tea to offset the gallon jug of Gatorade that will inevitably become to hot to drink in the afternoon. I found that if you put a box between the side of the truck and your bottle that it stays cooler for longer. I've also tried cooling towels that you wet with ice water. Found out those just turn into mobile humidifiers and turns your shirt into one as well. Really the only thing you can do that helps is to just power through the day and get done as fast as you possibly can. The temps inside of a typical fedex/ups truck in the back can easily get near 200° and the front with both doors open is over 140 easy. The only time having the doors open does any good is on the highway where airflow will come in. Otherwise in neighborhoods and in between neighborhoods there isn't enough air coming in fast enough to do a whole darn thing to help you.

It's not bad being totally honest as long as you sign on with a good DSP , mine doesn't seem to care what goes on as long as the packages are delivered and no vans are wrecked or stuck on customer property or no property is Damaged, I'm signing on with a different Dsp in a couple of weeks that actually rewards etc , been with my current Dsp for almost 2 months and my schedule has been cut down to 3 days a week so the 40 hour guarantee is not happening. As far as delivering goes it's easy as long as you sort your packages at the first delivery it's easy and quick to get done with your route.

Do you ever feel rushed or stressed on getting everything done in a timely matter on route? Or is it fairly balanced and stress free? Obviously if you lollygag you'll take longer but if you're just doing your job is it fairly smooth flowing? I've debated on applying at Express part time.
@MrSlutnugget
@MrSlutnugget Жыл бұрын
Residential technically has no time limit, go at your own pace. But it behooves one to try to go at least 20-25 stops an hour. Ground(business deliveries) have to be more considerate of time. I drive a bulk truck, no shelves, average 30 stops a light day and max 50 stops on a heavy day. Not many stops as resi but im loaded with upwards of 300+ packages. Even with all that, I've got my area memorized to the point if i start at 8am, im done delivering in 3 to 4 hours. Downside....i have pickups that start at 2 pm. So even if i go quick, i still have to go out at 2. Like others say, routes vary. Some good & some bad. Just depends on the person on that route. Ground drivers are all 3rd party contractors, pay rate depends on what that owner set. Express is hourly & corporate Express weight limit is 45 lbs. Ground/home delivery weight limit is 150 lbs, at least in my area. Means if you got a 145 lb desk, you are taking it solo & quite possibly no dolly.

How do you know what packages to grab? Do you have commercial on one side and residential on the other And loading docks in the middle?
@Brquse
@Brquse Жыл бұрын
All packages are labeled with a little 1x2in sticker known as the SID number. Our scanners sequence the entire route based on those numbers. There are 16 total "zones" that can be made and they follow the pattern of 1000-1099, 1500-1599, 2000-2099, 2500-2099, etc., all the way to 8500-8599. On the shelves in the back, there are stickers on the them that tell the package loader where to put each package based on the SID number. You start with 1000 and end with 8500. To break it down very simply, we can see on our scanners that 123 N, Main St. has the SID number 1043. So we look for that package on the 1000's shelf with the SID number 1043. Done. On to the next, rinse and repeat 100-200 more times! And on the unfortunately often occurrence that the SID sticker has fallen off, we have to match the address on the label with our scanner, and obviously with the location we are delivering to in real life. Honestly, without those SID stickers, the job would take a lot, lot longer and be a lot more tedious. As far as all the stuff in the middle, that's all big stuff that doesn't make sense to put on shelves. Just gotta make sure you remember where those ones are when you're at the stop! Hope all this info helps xD

I’m currently waiting on a $1,300 gaming PC to be delivered. It was sent through express, supposedly with one day shipping. That was seven days ago. Customer service is giving me the runaround, won’t give me a straight answer as to weather they even still know where it is. They keep saying “we’re investigating“ supposedly it’s still sitting on the truck; only an hour and a half away.

Package handler here. Yes, they do indeed return them to the station, where a dedicated “Van Line unloader” unloads the vans onto conveyor belts

I work for fedex on a country backroads route and sometimes I’m scared for my life. It takes me 10-12 hours just to do 50-60 stops. It sucks but I know if I keep at it then I’ll eventually get a good route that’s a lot easier. Life’s not fair sometimes but MEN get out there and get it done regardless. We have so many people call out that I’m constantly working 7 days a week. Gotta pay your dues

This is the 5th FedEx KZbinr I’ve seen recently,😂 what’s going on! Seems like you guys are getting paid by FedEx to put out these videos all the sudden. 😅 not only that but all of you are at risk of getting seriously fired, if this wasn’t some marketing stunt because I can guarantee you. The company would going to be pissed if they see you filming on the job. So what is this? Some sort of FedEx secret promotion going on, or what?
