Sure, he's not the best announcer... But, I can guarantee not one of you fuckers in here complaining can do a better job. And, none of you has the experience calling a game that this guy has. instead of bitching, mute it and be thankful they even uploaded these. I don't care if you got Fran fucking Drescher to announce a match...I'd still watch it. Thanks for uploading these and giving us a window into some high calibre matches.

I like any announcer who can give me further insight into what an experienced one-pocket player would do. So yeah, I really like Rich, Daniel, Box Patterson, Billy Incardona of course, and players like Tang Hoa. Thanks to Daniel for letting them commentate and for sharing these videos - for free, no less. Cheers!

Announcers during these types of games crack me up. "He's thinking of shooting this ball, to come off that ball." "Right now, he's gonna bank the 7 into the 11 ball." I realize they are commenting on what they think they would shoot (IF they were playing), but, 90% of the time, the actual players don't shoot what the commentators say. It actually amounts to filling in just "audio" sound -bites, so the video watchers don't get bored watching an hour-long silent game. The commentators might as well be instructing people on how to operate a washing machine. It would almost amount to what's actually happening on the table.

I’ve watched this video twice now, and I think my 70/30 estimation is much closer than yours, i.e. 70% of the time, the announcers are correct about the next shot. Maybe you were suffering a case of confirmation bias, where you only remember what you want to remember, Edward. It happens to the best of us.

I'd be happy to bet on Frost over Daulton, Jones, or Owen. SVB's too hard to bet against at any game right now.

i don't know who wins at 20 min mark but if any one would pick Scott Frost as the are not to sharp. Alex won the world one pocket championship in 2001 or 2002 and beat Nick Varner in the finals and he is a level or two over Scott Frost. frankly, i never understood why people started to believe he is a top level player. he has a high gear but its not pretty. its not an insult or personal but i wanted to play him when he first showed up on the scene and it never worked out but he was not intimidating like some other top high-level pool players.

Onesimus747 Just a slight correction, in 2000 it was Nick Varner who beat Alex 4-0 in the finals of the World One Pocket title up in Maine.

Not sure why all the negative comments about the commentator. Knowlegeable one pocket player IMO. Anyone who played a lot with Keither gets my attention .

I like the commentary Very knowledgable Alex and Scott just see it differently at times as would any good 1P player Try and guess what Efren will do and you will be wrong a lot of the time

Scott Frost one of the best in the WORLD? I dunno about all that..How many are on your list of best in the world? I can think of 10 better immediately off of the top of my head. He's damn good no doubt. One of the best in the world,??? Nahhhhhhhhh...

Lemme put it to you this way... I don't think there's a more knowledgeable player in the world, than Jeremy Jones.. Even Efren takes a back seat to this guy's knowledge.. Where Efren distanced himself was with shotmaking that nobody else would even attempt.. Not that Efren isn't extremely knowledgeable, too.. He is..

Hmmm?... Well, let's see.. Jones just beat Efren, and does just about everything better than Scott, as does Daulton... You may be right about Owen, but then there's Deuel, who's probably playing better than Scott, right now.. I think it's time you realized Scott overrates himself a little bit..
@roo7227
@roo7227 11 жыл бұрын
Gabe and Scott are close, certainly.. Gabe has disappeared from the scene, so Scott probably beats him, now, anyways, but I think Gabe knows the game better.. Jones and Daulton rob Scott, IMHO.. Just like Alex.. In fact, Alex would get robbed by both Jones and Daulton, playing one pocket.. lol..
@roo7227
@roo7227 11 жыл бұрын
In fact, I'd like to know what you think Scott does better than Daulton or Jones?.. Both bank better than Scott, and they're both more knowledgeable, certainly.. Most people would say Scott plays the power game better, but Jones learned the game from Jersey Red, so he can move multiple balls to his hole with the best of them.. And if the balls get uptable, Scott has no chance, against either of them.. There's a reason why Jones has won the US Open 9-Ball and One Pocket, while Scott... Hasn't..
