I wish you had kept the score board current and up to date as the change occurred. Also how many people know who when where how whys about one pocket pool? So Daniel besides the strategy that you advise Jesse to play which was "defense" what other kinds of strategies might be at play here. For those of us that don't know a damn thing about 'one pocket' it would have helped for you to point out that the right pocket was Jesse Gilberts and the left side Efren Reyes. You would have had me on the edge of my seat. Trying to figure this out just by watching? I'm exhausted.
@POVPOOL8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. We'd really like to accommodate some of the newcomers to One-Pocket so, I appreciate your comments. I actually wasn't suggesting throughout the match that Jesse play a lot defense. I was more or less saying that he shouldn't throw away his opportunities and play a little smarter. 99% of the time, the person breaking the rack is automatically electing the opposite corner as his/her pocket; unless otherwise specified. The best way to break in one pocket is from the side which, is on a diagonal plane to your pocket. There are some other fancy breaks, but the player will specify his/her pocket if applying the fancy break. Sorry bout the scoring bud. It is by far, my biggest flaw when doing these matches and I truly apologize.

@@POVPOOL I appreciate your transparent honesty, and just to add to the subject; we (as pool players) are all pretty pissed off about pool essentially being demoted as a sport so on and so forth... Well in other sports do you see them make Such consistent careless errors when tracking scoring? ...not a chance. So if we want to be taken seriously then we have to act accordingly. This is not to say there is no appreciation for what you do, there absolutely is... but if I happen to walk away from a match for a few min I should be able to come back and know the score is right. Much Love, Be Blessed.

just curious as what part of cali is this at ? is this LA and if so what pool hall. i know im not a world beater but ive always loved the game of one pocket more than any other game and grew up playing and when i moved to cali 6 years ago , none of the pool rooms ive been to out here in southern Cali no one plays one pocket. plus it would be nice to just drop by amd sweat some action if theres any around. so my question is where in cali and what pool hall. Thanks for feed back in advance.

I don't know where you are going in Cali to miss one pocket action. Most of the rooms get into it around these parts. This particular room is in Northern California at California Billiards. The link to the room and the address are in the description of this video. That said, looking for One Pocket action? Here's a list of rooms that I'm sure will gladly take action from you between 20 and 40 a game: Hard Times Billiards (Sacramento), Family Billiards (San Francisco), Jointed Cue (Sacramento), The Jointed Cue (Sacramento), Crown Billiards (San Ramon), The Broken Rack (Emeryville), The Cueball (Bakersfield), Hard Times Billiards (Bellflower), California Billiards (Fremont), Edgie's Billiards (Milpitas), House Of Billiards in Santa Monica and Sherman Oaks, Family Billiards in Lakewood, The Cueball in Montclair. I hope this helps.

Best pool players are humans, and they make mistakes too. There was an instance in the past when efren missed to pocket a ball - pretty straight one - with ball in hand. It happens. But at the end of the day, their skills play out in most of the games. I haven't seen one quite like Efren in one pocket. His stroke is one of a kind, executing shots with different amounts of english and speed of the cue ball. I can't imagine how executes a follow through shot by shooting the cue ball under. This matchup is like lion v dog.

What is an "even" race to 8?
@waakid0077 жыл бұрын
I believe in an uneven race, one of the players, normally the stronger one, will receive a handicap. In this case none were handicapped and they were both playing from the same score. Hence the term even race. If this was uneven, Efren would have received a handicap given he is the stronger player and the other player would have started each frame with a certain amount of point in the lead so as to even the match by giving him a slight advantage to compensate his lesser level.
