♥♥ Right around 1:24:05 into the video, Efren's cue ball DID contact the 12 ball. The 12 ball rolled EVER SO SLIGHTLY, but, to the "naked eye", it's possible that the opponent didn't see it. Yes, Efren being the gentle man that he is just decided it's not worth arguing about.

I think for tournaments like this you should only be able to say “pause” to your opponent and talk to a ref or tournament director. Mike is being very unprofessional. He said efren tried to cheat him on a ball before 1:24:00. I’m pretty sure efren didn’t foul, and 100% the 12 ball moved. I hope mike gets in touch with Efren and apologizes after seeing this.

I think you're right. I thought he hit it with his cue on the follow through the first time I saw it, but going back he clearly thins the 12 and causes the miss on the ball up table. Efren must be one hell of a cool cat to not get fired up by Mike prancing around berating him and calling him a cheat.

The first time I watched it I didn't think he hit it, but after reading this and re watching it, he 100% did. He is world class, didn't even argue, just spotted it up. I think he knew he could beat tat guy any time he wanted.

@@mescellaneous Why would the cue ball miss the 2? Well, he was jacked up over a ball and he's old as hell now. Easy to swerve and miss. Didn't see why 12 moved in real time on a small screen. Then he didn't argue the foul even one bit. That was the context behind my initial thought. Thanks for asking.

I still remember the first time I ever saw Efren in person. We were at a pool room in North Carolina and some guy who I assume was Efren's backer came in and was talking to some people trying to get a 9-ball game. Once he found the person Efren came in, grabbed a house cue off the wall without even looking at it, and ran like 10 racks on the guy. It was then I realized that the cue itself really didn't matter all that much.

He is a class act, no doubt about it, his long history of classy behavior proves that. But he also knows that in one pocket a single ball hardly makes a difference, especially early in a game. One ball might be important near the end game, or when setting up a run out, or a complex safety. But Efren could give almost anyone in the tourney 8-7 without missing a beat.

He also made another foul in game 3 just before pocketing the 8-ball he moved the stripe by the corner with his body. And that hit with the cue on the two is most definitely a foul, and it wasn't that soft either. I'm sure he noticed but kept quiet. And then five minutes later he accused Efren of cheating and made him respot a ball when he made a legal shot. Yeah, he's old but so is Efren, the difference is Efren has class, and this guy is being a massive scumbag on top of being a cheater.

at 1:25 Efren definitely hit the 12 ball. I was admiring Medley for his tenacity - playing to win while he appears to have one foot in the grave. Obviously a very unhealthy old man. I lost all respect for him when he started bad mouthing Efren over that shot. Efren was a gentleman about it - handled it professionally even though Medley was not only wrong but he was being a complete asshole about it.

He also fouled at the end of Game 3 by touching with his body on the striped ball in the right pocket when shooting on the last 8 ball ... and nobody saw it ?? ... Efren was behind him ... but they should have a referee with such despicable players as "Mr." Mike... so sad at his age... My respecto to Efren... a real Mister !!

He never hit the 12 ball watched the shot multiple times he miscues and moved the ball with his stick in my opinion. BTW I was standing just to the right hand side of the table during this match and saw it live and heard the miccue. Efren laughed at the effort himself because he knew he hit it bad.

Agreed....Efren hit the 12ball legally, no doubt about it. The thing moved almost an inch. He was laughing because he thought he could see the ball up table. Efren has never cheated anyone, he has no reason to. Mr. Medley is prob very uncomfortable and irritated due to that, and let it get to him. He's trying to win...he knows he's a huge underdog, and he knew how important that game was.
