This is my classic steel wheel fitted to a Triumph Acclaim. You can't buy these any more so I decided to restore the original wheels at home in my workshop. I had the tyre fitted at the local tyre fitting bay though.

I literally have NO idea why I just watched you restore an old rim..........for 12 minutes. Oddly enough, it took me another 12 minutes of self reflection to realize that it was quite satisfying for some reason. Kept popping in to my feed so finally I was like, "alright then, I will watch it already". I am glad I did. Thank you. Subbed!

I have done this before on some rims that were in no where near as bad condition, the end result is definitely rewarding and worth it, but at the same time the amount of time and effort that goes into doing this almost seems less worthwhile than just going and spending the money on some brand new rims. Definitely a good way to save money.. just depends on how much you value your time.

Nicely done Martin. I like that powder coat color as well. I did the same thing to four wheels off a Geo Metro. However I like your way to remove the tires verses what I did. I used a cut off disk on an angle grinder. DON'T EVEN TRY IT! The hot rubber slings off everywhere and it seriously burns as well. The hacksaw was a better option, in my opinion. Thumbs Up!

Turned out ok. I would have pressure washed it first. Then used paint stripper and then used the sand blaster in which you need better air flow. Get a 5 gallon bucket and the tornado plus a shop vacuum. It will make a huge difference.
@RetroHax5 жыл бұрын
I already have that.
@outlawflyer78685 жыл бұрын
That's not what you showed. The wheel was still all rusty when you started wire wheeling it. Then you took it into the sandblasting cabinet in which the paint was still on and started blasting the paint off. If you had used paint stripper there would have been no paint. So I dont know what you think you have done. The video doesn't lie.
