I've done a lot of my own rotors, makes them look nice. A I spray it all on the outboard side, and shop vac the parts I don't want powder. Same idea. Much better than rust...

For the rotors in the thumbnail it’s fine then throw it on the lathe after, but you are not supposed to cut drilled rotors. Tbh you should do the mating surfaces either.

Power stop says you can turn them without a problem. I've turned plenty of slotted/drilled rotors. Not trying to argue but there are manufacturers that say you can do it in their literature.

​@Chrisprara no I read it too and he saying you're nor supposed to turn drilled rotors. Which is semi true.. you can but just have to be more gentle and take easier cuts with em

Would you recommand using a sticker, or a Stencil and painting over the powdercoat on caliper? I cant find any High temp sticker in my region only regular materials..

I did mine and just had them recut after and skipped all the masking. Why is the rotor to hub mounting surfaced masked if you don't bother with masking the rotor to wheel surface...to avoid runout issues??

you NEVER powder coat brake parts that have clamping pressures applied to them. the heat from the braking will soften the powder coat and the pressure is gone.

RIGHT TF HERE. 4:10 and ill say it again, its the heat from braking gets the powder coat too soft and can melt taking any clamping pressure away and making the wheel fly off. This is mostly all in a extreme racing conditions. There was a recall for Porsche on this back in the day for the wheels on 911's, the recall fix was to grind off the mating surface where the wheel bolts mate with the surface of the wheel. You powder coated one of the faced of the mating surface to the wheel. THAT is a failure for the exact reason i said you can't that you ASKED WHY. NOT subscribing to this junk and your PISS POOR attitude to a viewer.
