I can't deliver a better solution, but with non solid objects the bottom flap will probably not let it fall straight, it will slide and get a diagonal direction. Maybe split the flap and link both together, if one gets pushed to close the other will close too.

Dear Mr. Thang, thank you so much for your endless great work! I'm learning so much from you! But I'm puzzled about other channels, like "KING MECHANICAL", wich I found long before yours. My impression is, that you are the original source and that others steal your hard work ... :-/ Is it true? Or is "KING MECHANICAL" somehow a second channel of yours?

@@thang010146 Oh, that's sad! :-( I canceled immediately my subscription to KING MECHANICALS channel. And I added your channel as recommendation onto my startpage on KZbin! In past, I gave KM so much "thumbs up", now I feel sad for that. :-( Now I will remove all his videos from my playlist. Thank you, for clearing this topic, you are the best!

Finnished! I removed al my given "thumps up" for KING MECHANICAL's videos, he stole from you! And as it looks, he even auto-deletes all comments which contain a link to your channel! :-( He is really a bad guy. :-( I will do my best, to support your channel, dear Mr. Thang! From now on, you will receive not only a thump up, but also a nice comment for each of your videos, because each interaction pushies the YT-algorithm. And again: Thank you so much, for all your great work and for sharing your rich knowledge with us! Allways have a nice time! :-)

How should I modify the bottom flap if I want to dispense sticky batter like substance in this method
@thang010146Ай бұрын
This dispenser cannot be modified to handle sticky batter.

This is a very good design but can this same dispenser can be used for rice? and is it possible to make a hinge out of cardboard?
@thang010146 Жыл бұрын
This design can be applied for rice. Wooden hinges are better.

Can you design something similar for powder and dried molasses bits
@thang0101465 ай бұрын
I think this design can be used for that. Is there any obstacle?
@johnminnick12282 жыл бұрын
I have been working a problem similar to this and, respectfully, there is one significant flaw in your design which I have encountered. As the amount of powder in the feed funnel goes from full to empty, the compaction of the powder in the volumetric cup will vary. This results in variations of the amount dispensed. Have you encountered this? The solution I have developed is as follows: Instead of purely relying on the gravitational force of the powder in the funnel, use an extruder screw or piston to fill the volumetric cup with powder to a constant density. Your thoughts sir?
@johnminnick12282 жыл бұрын
Another possible solution is to have a secondary prefill chamber between the funnel and the cup which is first filled before dispensing into the cup.
@thang0101462 жыл бұрын
@johnminnick1228 Yes, the horizontal extruder screw (continuously rotates) fills the funnel to ensure the funnel is always full. Excess powder is returned to the extruder hopper.

@@thang010146 How are you returning excess powder to the hopper? Do you drive the screw forward for a long amount of time and then reverse for a short amount of time? Or do you use some form of a return line like a fuel return line on an automobile?
@thang0101462 жыл бұрын
The screw speed of the extruder should be selected so that the excess powder is as small as possible. It is loaded into a container and returned to the extruder hopper at the end of the working day. Otherwise, a conveyor is needed.

Hey mr thang... how do you go about working out a mechanism design? How do you find the optimum pivot points and travels to get the motion you want?
@thang0101464 жыл бұрын
Your question relates to the synthesis of mechanisms. If possible, a mechanism can be created based on algebraic or geometric calculations. If not, method "Try and Adjust" is used. A CAD software is a good tool for that.

Dear Mr Thang, this powder dispenser seems very much simple innovative design. But, what if we want to change the amount of powder filled in the cup. Is there any adjustment possible in this same setup?? Just curious!!
@thang0101464 жыл бұрын
Possible. Make the hole of the green part rectangular and add a sliding cover for the hole from the right. Move it to the left to reduce the amount of powder.
