This is one of my absolute favorite songs sung by Schooner Fare. Breaks my heart every time.

This is one of my favorites by Schooner Fare. I grew up in Maine, about 30 years ago I had a chance to see Schooner Fare perform at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. It was a lovely taste of home for me, having been away from Maine for some time. Because of hearing them in concert, I've enjoyed adding Sea Shanties as one more musical genre worth listening to now and then. I love finding great music in lesser known genres. Schooner Fare are great examples of extremely talented musicians who love a particular type of music and dedicate themselves to it. If they had picked something more main stream, they're talented enough to have perhaps become much more famous and prosperous. I suspect they wouldn't want to trade their memories and lives for any amount of money or fame, though.

Schooner Fare has been a favorite over the years especially with Tom Rowe. It is good to hear them again.

Thrilled to have stumbled on you guys again! We set up a turntable at home and were going through old albums today. Found yours and remembered this incredible song. Hope to see you again in person some time. (You did a show in Peekskill, NY in the 80s that my husband produced at the Paramount Center. We both remember you and Tom fondly...)

As a white man, I’m compelled to go find some tar and feathers and rolling them. That’s how guilty this song makes me.
