I happened to find a random ETB when these were still in Target and bought it thinking I'd have self control, hold it a few years, then sell it. But I got bored that night and opened it, and the rainbow charizard was in the second pack haha

I've also opened up countless Champions Path packs and was never lucky enough to pull either one. CP is my enemy, too. Needless to say, I just purchased both those Zards to add to the collection.

I gave up on champions path after about 200 packs since it was such a brutal set, all the other hits in the set had no value so it was Charizard or bust with that set. I ended up just buying the shiny Charizard V. Personally I like that card a lot better than the rainbow Charizard Vmax since it’s pretty unique. All of the rainbow cards used the be the chase cards back in the day but after a while they all started looking the same. Eventually people started to get tired of the rainbows and luckily Pokemon brought back alt arts. The shiny Charizard v has stood the test of time and is actually a little more expensive now than the rainbow Vmax.

There was a total glitch in the matrix with CP for me. My wife bought me a Dubwool and Hatterene box for my birthday and I pulled the rainbow from one box and the shiny v from the other. I don't ever expect I'll ever see that kind of luck ever again.

i worked at meijer and constantly saw scalpers scalping champions path boxes, so i hid one in an aisle away during my shift, and came back after to scoop it. i opened it with some friends, and it had the rainbow charizard, and i pulled it with 3 buddies in the car. def my best tcg memory.
