I'm 46, and just got myself a Nicky Guerrero re-issue, paired with 159 Indys and Powell 55mm G slides wheels. Super stoked, why did I waited over 30yrs for this!!

I was at the ban this premier at the factory in the 80's. Never skated a Powell but did skate with Tony a lot in the early 80's. Nice video.

Just ordered a blem version of this same board and I can't wait to get it. Got some hollow indys 169s, 1/8 raiser, and some bones 55 100a's to shoe her. Sweet video dude.

Awesome!!! Let me know what ya think of your new deck! That sounds like a badass set up!! I need to order more wheels and trucks for mine pretty quick. I robbed what I have on there from one of my other decks. Have an amazing day!!

@@JsTacosandGuitars SC classic dot 80's 9.35 cruzer, complete. Krux trucks and slimeball wheels (old school shape not sure if its qualifies as a true reissue) The reason I got that SC is I missed the Jeff Kendal Snake Reissue deck- that's what I had in 1992. PP Geegah Skull and Sword deck Indy trucks and Gbones wheels. Both just for cruising- Don't think I can take a fall like back in the day! ;)

Im a few days away from 47 and tried to get back in couple years back and half popsicle boards...booooooo no good. Glad these are still around. Will be building one for mini ramp use

The re-issue decks are super fun!! Actually that is all I skate now because I figured out all of my tricks on a pop deck could be done on a shaped deck like I started out skating as a kid.

It blows my mind when people can do tricks on these! I can barely Ollie on it!

I like that one with the checkered pattern. Get yourself some Mini Logo AWOL wheels. Way faster than the small wheels used today.

As far as reissues go, I have 3 Caballeros, a green and black gator, a red and gold gator, a psycho stick, and a roskopp face deck. I also have my original 87 cab deck that is still in great condition. I also have the andy Anderson flight deck which also has a wider frame. I'm 47 so I'm in the same boat. I'll never skate a popsicle deck but I will start my 3 yr old on one.

Greetings from Mulvane! I got back into skating not too long ago as well as a fellow old dude at 35, also riding a Powell Peralta just like I did as a kid. I think my wife believes I’m having a mid life crisis, my 3 year old son just thinks it’s hilarious when dad falls and busts his chops lol.

Good ol’ Mule-Train, KS!! We may or maybe not broke into the high school a few times to skate late at night Glad you’re tearing it up! I’ve had to cut back a little, but still loving it!! Be safe!! Cheers!!

@JsTacosandGuitars3 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah! Which reissue(s) are you riding? In the video I have mini logo 8.75 trucks on it. I now have Independent 215s on it. That’s the 10” model. I also put 55mm 78a OJ Super Juice Minis on it. Love just cruising on it! Keep it up and stay safe, brother!!

@@JsTacosandGuitars Thanks! I have the reissue decks of both the Caballero Dragon/Bats in silver with some Independent 149 Martinez trucks, 3/8" OJ risers, OJ 3 60mm 78a wheels, Powell Peralta Rib and Tail bones. My other is the Caballero Chinese Dragon natural with some new old stock actual 80s Gullwing IV 8.5" trucks, 1/2" risers, OJ 3 60mm 78a wheels and Powell Peralta Rib and Tail bones. I also have an Andy Anderson 8.45 Powell Peralta Flight Deck with Mini Logo 8.38" Black/silver trucks, Mini Logo 1/4" risers, Powell Peralta Neon Green G Bones 64mm 97a wheels and Powell Rib Bones. I just enjoy building and having them. I'm not a trick rider just a cruiser. Thanks again and the best to you as well!!

@@concoctionbox7026 WHOA!! I’m jelly of those decks! How do the bigger wheels compare to smaller ones like 54mm? I ordered some Bones Filmers and they came to me as 60mm instead of what I ordered. Now I’m kinda wishing I would of kept them. We have the same vibe for sure! I’m really enjoying building them, painting them and just cruising. When I had 54mm 100a wheels that didn’t roll as fast as these soft wheels I could Ollie pretty well maybe a foot off the ground, but one time of it slipping out from under me and my old butt said “nope” :) Sticking to the ground from now on! Have an awesome day!! Keep up the good vibes and keep the collecting, building and cruising!!
@idmhead01603 жыл бұрын
@@JsTacosandGuitars I bet the Super Juices are a lot faster? I don't know how much of it is wheel size versus durometer, but, I got some Mini Logo AWOL 63mm 80As and they are dramatically better than modern small hard street wheels. I also have AWOL 55mm and 59mm which are faster as well. But, I like the 63s the best. I think the softer wheels must just absorb the vibration better and let the bearings roll faster. It's a huge difference. The AWOLs also have the plastic core. I don't know if that makes a difference. I absolutely love the AWOLs for cruising. Very fast.
@idmhead01603 жыл бұрын
Also, counterintuitively, I think the wider wheels may be faster as well. I would have though narrower wheels would be faster due to less rolling resistance. I think the AWOLs are around 40mm wide, or maybe a little more. Double the width of street wheels. I also have some 97A G-Bones 64mm that I just got. But, I found those to be slower than the AWOLs. And also bone jarring as hell. They slide great, but, other than that, they are pretty brutal. I wanted to go right back to the AWOLs after skating them for a few minutes.

What’s the best board for transition skating in your opinion ?
@JsTacosandGuitars3 жыл бұрын
I personally ride a 8.75”. I’m 6’ and 215lbs I keep my trucks pretty tight too since I’m “heavy” for a skater. I have a couple of the Nigel Jones Spread The Shred decks and really like the feel of them. Contour is just right and med kicks. My boys have Almost and Element decks. The kicks on the Almost are higher and look pretty cool. I’m betting that offers a bit more pop. Take em off the wall and stand on em til you find your fave for sure. All the best! Be safe and have fun! Cheers!

Thanks for the reply 👍 8.75" looked nice, no over hang with the wheels and not to short for the board size. Wonder what the 10" look like. Maybe a part 2?
