I like how Adams face is not visible to show how tall he is.

Good video Doug. Mike Morgan has been extolling the virtues of this machine for several years. This is the machine I would buy for excellent production capability. Anyway, stay safe healthy and dry which is not easy these days. Bill H from Cranberry Township PS, it was nice of your tall lanky neighbor friend Adam to come over and help you.

Maneuverability is definitely something to consider. We did our best to compare the weights in our splitter wars series and the Wolfe Ridge was the lightest of the commercial machines we ran. The Eastonmade 12-22 can be moved by hand as well but takes a little more. Our All Wood needs a vehicle, tractor, or Trax trailer dolly.

We just had 20 trees taken down to do a garage at our house. Wish I had that beast, instead of the little splitter we have. Impressive splitter for sure!

The splitter is very nice, but a new garage is wayyyyy better to have!! Good luck with it!

It is good to see it finally drying up in the area. It was extremely wet just before I left for Oklahoma last week. When I returned, it looked like the forecasted rain didn't happen. Yesterday was the first time this season I didn't get stuck mowing the yard. 😂

It’s been horrible here also

It'd be cool if the sorting table lid underneath and you could run the splitter with it fully retracted right through to maybe the full depth of the red discharge tray.

What I don't like about all these units is the log lift is on the opposite side from where you're splitting, so you're constantly having to run around the unit to load logs. I can't see how that could really be improved, but as you say, "There's got to be a better way."
@OneEyeCustoms26 күн бұрын
I 💯 agree with you on that!

I have a 37 Ton Brave splitter and I cannot move it around at all. I had to buy a trailer dolly. Something people do not think about before a splitter purchase.

Great point Doug, not every one of us needs a huge $120k processor. Compact design, maneuverability, power, speed are also top reasons for people to choose what fits them. I’m looking into a super split made not far from me in Massachusetts. Checks all the boxes like you mentioned

Good to see a vid from you. I do appreciate your knowledge and insight. Like you stated, the longer catch tables are a must. I agree and I go one step farther, I made my table hinge. I can’t understand why mfgs over here don’t do this. Another is the 4way. I agree. The 4 is the Swiss army wedge. I went a little different design on mine, I welded cross wedges at bottom of center wedge so when I drop wedge I can transition from 4 to 2 way with a simple hydraulic lever actuation not wedge removal.

Good morning Doug, I agree with everything you have noted. It is a very versatile pice of equipment with a lot of Productive Smile Factor built in. I also like the ability to easily move it out of the way and do an appropriate clean up around and under, which is a Safety and Organization Bonus that might not be as easily available on other pieces of Splitting Equipment. Well done. 😊👍👍👍

Power to rate ratio…😮. The tough may have to be heavier to manage the weight if it’s 16” longer? Younger? Yes. More capable? Jury’s out. But he is 6’5”.
