I buy almost everything on Aliexpress, living in South Est Asia, it's basically the place to go for most electronics lol Not really into power-banks but i can see the appeal when you carry lot of devices which rely on DC power :) Have a great week ahead my brother

Feb 22 Store has come out with a whole line of powerbank kits recently (or are carrying stuff they've found). They have their 4, 8, 12, 16, 24 cell kits with the acrylic case all the way around that I'm a little skeptical of because the old versions are IP5389 and I prefer IP2368. Their newer ones also have a DC port so it might be a different IC. They support up to two additional boards being placed on top of the main PCB so potentially you could have the main 100W IC plus 2 120W boards added to it for 340W output but you'd probably want to go with at least the 12 cell variant for that and of course you have to use cells that at least have a decent discharge rate. Too many kiddies putting old laptop cells and wondering why it wont work. The cheaper kits are more similar to this one but with colored shells that might have the top clear to show the PCB. They have a couple 20W models, an all acrylic rectangular 45W model and recently a 100W model. I have the first two and they are both good. The 20W model I'm talking about has a simple screen that shows you if the power is either coming in or going out and the volts and amps. Current reading isnt terribly accurate but once you know how far off it is then you can at least have a good idea of how to read it accurately.. For $12 it was a great buy, I just hate that its a 4 cell 1S pack because you have to spot weld the cells in a funky way. All their other power banks use cell holders which...are alright I guess. Not the greatest quality, not the worst quality cell holders.

Are the 100 watt DIY power banks on AliExpress just plug and play and you're all set? Or do you have to spot weld and install the board? I would really like to have one of the 24x18650 banks but I have zero interest in welding or soldering.

Power banks are awesome to have

Powerbanks with springs are a big no go from me. Terribly high contact resistance and doesn't hold cells very securely in place. Leaf spring contacts are the way to go I just wish we'd see more companies using metals with higher conductivity like cupronickel or beryllium.

I've bought a few over time. Sometimes, they overheat, don't charge fully, charge too slowly, discharge while not used. All sorts of problems. Can you imagine if Chinese companies had quality control systems in place.

I would love to see this with AA batteries

It will die in minutes

@@Iinustechtips little do you know AA batteries have approximately 1500mAh to 3000MAh, and 18650 batteries (the ones showed here) have approximately 1500mAh to as much as 3600mAh. So no it wouldn’t die in minutes…
@Iinustechtips Жыл бұрын
@@bigtymer4862 1200mah at 1.5v which is less than 4wh. 21700s gold 5000mah at 3.6v for 18wh each. That is 4x the capacity. Please check your facts....
