Nah I don’t think so. Ghost has proven he is overall a selfish person, and will do whatever it takes to survive and flourish. Half of his reasoning to leave the life was his fear of not getting to grow old because he didn’t know any old drug dealers. He constantly underestimated Tariq and refused to accept the person Tariq was becoming. I don’t think he expected a betrayal from his own son, he thought he could manipulate him like he did everyone else in his life.
