Lou’s drinking creates a problem for the whole family when Shantel goes looking for justice. Kanan assimilates into Ronnie’s crew, and Raq formulates a new plan for Unique’s former heroin operation
Season Synopsis:
Over the last two seasons of “Raising Kanan,” Kanan Stark has slowly learned the truth about not only his mother, but also himself. It has been a tortuous journey for him and everyone around him. With each new revelation, Kanan has been forced to confront his family’s seemingly never-ending web of secrets and lies. He has spent much of this time in a state of denial, but now, Kanan’s blinders are finally off, and he doesn’t like what he sees. In season three, Kanan finds himself grappling with the very notions of right and wrong. Good and evil. Fidelity and disloyalty. And he’s not alone. Every member of the Thomas family must confront an existential crisis that challenges their very identity. Whether it’s Marvin, who’s still trying to redeem himself, or Raq, who’s finally coming clean, or Lou, who’s wrestling with his own evil, or Jukebox, who’s simply trying to break free from her family’s pathology, they are all attempting to redefine and reinvent themselves. Julianna’s “ultra soul glow” curly perm gave her new power and confidence that she did not have before when she ran the Bodega…. lol! However, on a more serious note, Juliana was a victim of significant DV based on what we saw in Season 1. Because of the limited number of episodes with the series, her transformation or maybe her being who she was prior to getting married can’t been shown. She may have had these connections and confidence before, we just didn’t see it initially because of her DV situation with her husband. For all we know, her husband could have told her what to wear, how to fix her hair and would not let her contact her family.

Ronny seems to have been the muscle and, vicious drive behind his and Unique's ( and it seems clear that , though Ronny was the face of the operation, Unique was the charisma and nuanced strategy of the duo) and, now he expects Kaman to take Unique's place.

Roney is still exemplifying leadership with Kanan. He is using a different style of leadership. He is still in the driver's seat. He just isn't doing the driving now, he has switched seats, but he is still giving the direction. He leads with fear, and he is also leading from behind with Kanan. The purpose for Ronnie strategy is to build trust between Kanan and him. Ronnie is allowing Kanan to think that he is running the show or in a partnership, but Ronnie is still running things. This strategy wouldn’t have worked with Unique.

Raq doesn't work for Stefano. Stefano is a go between, who will be getting his off the top for connecting Raq with the connect. The Mob tried not to sell the drugs themselves and instead get paid for facilitation, protection, amd sometimes logistics and shipping. Howard is going to fall this season. I'm realizing Raq might finally be putting him down.

Lucas explained the Kanan/Famous situation perfectly, Raq is his target but Famous is the easiest to aim at. That scene with Juke putting Kanan in check was one for the books for her character. I think right now it's convenient for Ronnie to play the side or back-up because the kid has the mentality for how their moving "the work." But we know he'll snap at any moment and so does Kanan, who has done a decent job at projecting a level of hardness he might not be up to yet. It felt like he had a mirror up to him as he watched the level of potential monster in Ronnie talking to Famous. That image he has of himself right now is gonna crack hard sooner than later. Oh, and Happy Worth day to Nagier!

Ronnie definitely fits the Mold of Breeze. OG Kanan said Breeze was Fierce but not too smart and clearly Ronnie isnt too Bright lol but he is scary. Plus Ronnie has all the traits, he sneaks around like Ghost, and Ruthless and crazy like Kanan and Tommy. But he is too stuck in his ways and has a pattern about him too. But the Biggest clue is how they emphasized his obsession with Watching TV even with the TV off. OG Kanan said Breeze Loves watching Jeopardy and they knew where he would be at 7pm everyday. Plus Ronnie was the Kingpin before he got locked up and gave the business over to Unique, so he has the Experience and Wisdom to Mentor Kanan. **By the way Ronnie always Wears a Breeze Windbreaker Jacket**

I totally understand your views on Burke & her family. However, I think out of fear & being dead also Burke’s father & girlfriend are hesitant. Burke sorry to say was at fault because she didn’t have a back up plan. Going directly at Howard wasn’t smart. I think Ronnie is on the spectrum. Back in those days, people (especially Black folks) didn't talk about those types of disorders. They just said, "he's just a little touched. Leave him be, he'll be fine." You can tell by how Unique used ignore Pernessa's concerns about his behaviors. Then when Ronnie was at the nightclub, he didn't want the women touching him (another thing that autistic people don't like: infringement on personal space). Even later, Juliana had to explain WHY she wanted to have s3x with him, and her intentions to try to work his"walls" down. Then when he asked Famous " why does your mama love you, when my mama doesn't love me?" (Which is a wild ass question.... Unless you're autistic. Then it's a perfectly valid question.) In most people's interaction with autistic people, the experience is normally a rather cordial experience, due to the fundamental foundation instilled in their social skills/behaviors. But what makes Ronnie so scary is that he's bereft of ANY of those skills. Barney and Sesame Street wasn't in his foundation. The drug game, hood politics, and a less than nurturing home life is his foundation (on top of complete denial of his condition - as opposed to recognition and using tools to function with it). Then further compiling that foundation with prison politics, and navigating that space (which also explains why his personal space means so much to him, because in prison, certain Suggestive behaviors lead to things that the average person wouldn't expect. So OF COURSE Ronnie isn't going to allow you be so in his space, touching on him, etc). Turning him loose on the streets - as they did - is like taking a junkyard dog, training him to be a fighting dog, then turning him loose at a dog park in an affluent neighborhood. There's no way to reel him back in. You can't really undo what has been done. The only way to ensure the safety of the public is to put him up, or put him down.
