I really love the shape of these SGV Guitars. I'm so pleased I managed to buy my own when I got back to the UK. I just wish mine had these awesome graphics on it.
I'm quite proud of these little ideas. They aren't the greatest things I've ever written or the best examples of my playing but I'm quite proud of myself for being able to record the bass, rhythm and lead guitars parts for the six short tracks in about a day and a half. All with severe jetlag and a pretty bad cold!
Steve Geer as always did a great job of the filming and it was a pleasure to search through his footage and edit these little pieces together.
All recorded with a Line 6 Sonicport VX into Steinberg Cubase running Helix Native. Technology can be pretty awesome.
Hope you enjoy!

"Join Paul Hindmarsh Music as he explores the treasures from the Yamaha Guitar Archive in Hamamatsu, Japan. Given the opportunity to delve into the vast collection of unique Yamaha guitar and bass prototypes, Paul created six short pieces of music to give these instruments a chance to vibrate again.
With "Powercut", Paul went old school metal. Starting with the lead guitar, Paul wanted to let the Pacifica 1230S, an early ‘90s prototype, take center stage.
A 2003 SGV500S was Paul’s choice for the rhythm part. One of six guitars hand painted by young graphic artists during a live painting performance, the SGV500S added a bit of edge underneath.
The 2001 SBV500 completed this piece. A redesign of the offset SB Series from the 1960s, featuring a deep neck joint and unique pickups, this bass paired perfectly with the SGV500S.
Paul recorded using the Line 6 Sonic Port VX into a MacBook® running Steinberg Cubase with Line 6 Helix Native software, and Yamaha HS8 studio monitors".
