Point of order: you can purchase more robots than machines (even more machines than workers), but at the cost of not being able to use those items. Although this is not a very efficient use of electro, a player could do this with the thought of preparing for future turns...that player will just have to power those certain items down until such time they can be used. Great review!

Allen Carter Slight clarification on that, "you can purchase more robots than machines (even more machines than workers), but at the cost of not being able to use [one or more of your items if you can't afford to do so]." The difference being in that you can choose to shut down any of your equipment. You could shut down the new equipment if you wanted to (maybe to save on a high power cost) or you could choose to shut down the old equipment that you are replacing (to get higher production or get get more workers back). Which tiles you shut down is situational and up the player to decide in the bureaucracy phase as long as all the requirements to use the tile are met. In a game where multiple players use several/most of their workers to bring down one type of robot(tile) to market, it can be advantageous to grab the high value robots(tile) of that type while they are available, even if you can't put them to immediate use. It might be unlikely that those same type robots(tiles) at that value level will be available for quite some time, or at all. As a result, grabbed a high value robots(tile) while it is available can be the most efficient move when averaged over all of the rounds, even for players that already maxed out their machine/robot allowance for that specific round. When this occurs, there is a reasonable probability that machines might drop to auction the next round giving you the chance to upgrade to level out (whatever the situation might be).

This looks great. I've had me eye on Power Grid for months, but I am very skeptical about quality of 2p game. This seems to retain a good amount of thematic tone, and from what I gather, plays awesome with 2. Excellent review King,

I would exchange my Power Grid box for this one. This looks less cutthroat game than the original (fighting for the energy you probably don't want, just to mess up others). Of course in this one you fight for play order and machines, but it looks like you won't be left with oil stations and no oil in the market :) Theme is good too.

When you start you have 4 workers and also 2 machine which need 2 workers each. What about if I buy a new machine that requieres 2 extra workers? I don't have any free worker left. Does it mean I can't buy it?
