Gemunu thanks a lot for bringing these interesting interviews with people with such a wealth of knowledge such as Mr. Manoranjan and Mr. Weerarathne. We need extended coverage from both these gentlemen. I am so surprised by some of the reporting on this channel about Sri Lanka-just unbelievable. I have two questions for Mr Manoranjan: I remember during the early 80s Sri Lanka did not have diplomatic relations with Israel. However, I remember that an Israeli interest section was opened within the premises of the US embassy during this time. It must be the time that Israel was training both the Sri Lankan army and the LTTE. My question is did the SL government of JRJ know about this double game and if so why was it allowed? The second question is a general question about the world economic situation and how Sri Lanka should maneuver in these waters? Since Mr Manoranjan has lived in Canada and traveled to other countries, does he think there is a viable economic model that does not hinder personal freedoms which are taken for granted in Western democracies? You can have rapid economic growth in a dictatorial state (Ex China) or you can follow a liberal economic policy with its attendant problems. Is there are a third option that he sees? The new NPP government will have to answer this question fairly soon. One cannot have it both ways. Specially since the fall of the Soviet Union and China's economic about turn in 1978 or so (Deng xia peng) it is apparent that planned economies like what they had in Soviet Union and China earlier are not viable. what is SL's best path forward?

Hello Gemunu, Thank you very much for bringing in Manoranjan for another priceless interview. As you can see clearly the wealth of knowledge this guy carries in his head, you can see how fortunate for us that he has managed to survive the LTTE's repeated assassination attempts. His knowledge, experience, view and interpretations are of pin point accuracy with sharp intellectual observations of our recent political past. We need this gentleman in the NPP government as a top advisor because as he stated and warned here, the destructive and inhumane underline system of the state still exists within Sri Lankan political and economic system and all the achievements of the last two years through the sheer anger and awakening of the mass public can be reversed anytime with local and international regressive and destructive forces. It will be an ongoing struggle to protect and preserve what we've achieved through the founding of the NPP government because as Manoranjan stated clearly here the "deep state" is still very much active and alive. In order to dismantle and weaken that "deep state" and protect the future of our island and the future of our children, we need true gentlemen like Manoranjan in our political arena, active in the political debate and activism. I expect the NPP government to bring Manoranjan as a key advisor to the government in local and international political affairs. I have no doubts Manoranan has a very good idea about how to shape our future on how to address the age old issue of North and South. I have no doubts he has a very good idea about the political governing system that we should devise and adopt for the long term future of our people. Thank you again for bringing in this gentleman for this interview series. Please keep this conversation going.
