Rather than using electrical tape, which can be kinda messy, you can slip some thin heat shrink tubing onto a wire before twisting it to the other piece. It's easier & looks way more professional to boot. Furthermore, I'd slip an additional, slightly larger piece over all three wires & slide it out of the way. After you shrink the 3 individual wires, the larger piece then slides over those & shrinks them all together for an even cleaner & more reinforced finish.

This was an excellent video. I've worked with the QuinLED before. I've also done some basic projects with ESP32 devices. Here are my questions, comments and video requests. Which ESP32 devices do you purchase? I've have good results with HiLetGo devices. it would be nice if you added a spreedsheet with your KZbin channel for parts recommendations and Amazon links When I work with kids, I've used superglue instead of soldering. Maybe something to test... Maybe a video on a small - hand sized solar panel with a power regulator to charge two 2850 batteries, then drop down/regulate to a 5V. Video on diffuser channels for LED strip lights. I liked your home brew lumber version. LED destruction video. Take some of your leftover strip lights. with all the versions, spray with water, leave outside, dunk in water. Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I'm still very new at this and my guess is you know a lot more than I do! I've actually never used an esp32 device yet but a few people have recommended that I do since its better than the esp8266 that I have been using. If you think the HiLetGo ones are good, maybe that will be the first one I order when I do! Do you know how I would add a spreadsheet people could download from my KZbin channel? Or would I just add a link to like a dropbox file? I really like the superglue Idea! I do want to do a video on diffuser channels to see if there are any out there that actually do a good job so I love that idea too! I know nothing about solar stuff but love the idea and maybe if I learn more about that down the road I will try! Thanks so much and I appreciate all the great feedback! Have a blessed day!

Thanks so much Lydia for watching and the great question! I wish i had an answer for you but I really have not worked with those type of led strips :( I've really only used the 3pin individually addressable type. I'll take a look on youtube and see if there is anyone else that has some good videos on those type of strips! Thanks again!

Hmm, I dont think I've worked with those types of led strips before that have 4 cables. The ones I'm familiar with are the 5v ones like in the video that have the 3 connection (voltage, ground, and data) Might have to look around for other videos from people who know more about that type of strip! Sorry I'm not more help on this one!

Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoy! I use wondershare filmora editing software. I probably only use 2% of the capabilities but it's pretty easy to use! I'm still very much learning on the fly. Filming and editing are things I had never done before so I watched a few KZbin videos on the program so I could at least know the basics! Let me know if you have any other questions! I'm more than happy to help!

I was wondering if how long or how many led strip bulbs can power up using the micro usb (wall plug)
@ChrisMaherDIY
@ChrisMaherDIY 2 жыл бұрын
It does depend on a lot of factors such as how powerful is the wall plug (they are not all the same) But in my new video with the RGB Baseboard Trim, I'm controlling 200 led lights with the micro usb. Now if i had those 200 lights on white and full brightness, you will for sure see a color drop off as you go further down but since all the animations generally will have colors (which doesn't take as much power as just pure white) I did not notice poor performance.

Can these connectors fit into aluminum channel?
@ChrisMaherDIY
@ChrisMaherDIY Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching. It would depend on the alumimun channel you use. There would for sure be some that will work and but there might be a few channels that are too narrow to fit. Just check out the dimension to be sure. but I would say they probably will fit the majority of aluminum channels!

can the WS2812B LED strip 2meter long (60 led per meter) be powered using PC PSU (5v line) ??
@ChrisMaherDIY
@ChrisMaherDIY 2 жыл бұрын
The short answer is yes. I've done that using WLED which has a cool power limiter built in. Your going to have to have the power pretty low which you can control on the WLED app and then it will be up to you to determine if the lights are bright enough for the intended use. I know I have personally been surprised at how many led lights I can power using such a limited power source. Thanks for watching!

@ChrisMaherDIY 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheMomonicky sorry, i sent the wrong link in the comment I just deleted. Below is the correct one. If you don't like how bright it is using the PC usb, the next step up I would recommend using would be this: amzn.to/32HnQKQ That would for sure provide more than enough power and if you decide to make something else with more LED's, you could use it for that as well.

@@ChrisMaherDIY so idk if you have seen the like rolls royce starlight DIY that people do in home theaters or movies but i was thinking in that term, fiber optics come in like 200 set bundles and usually at one end sits a light source (in theory a LED strip) and then a box around it that doesnt let that light go anywhere but into the fiber optic
