When i purchased my 2021 himalayan the first three days were horrible. It used to stall and feels lag.sluggishness used to happen until post 1st service when i took my bike a 1k km ride it helps me my himalayan understand each other and thus no more lags or stalls.

Greetings from Germany. My new BS6 works well with shifting at 3k rpm when I use a little double-clutching. You might want this if you got steady rolling traffic slightly above 30 km/h. It was the same with my old carburated Honda XBR 500, so I'm used to it. Beside this, nothing to add to Ben's remarks. Highly appreciating your work, Ben.

@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN I totally understand the good meaning on why @aditya dave suggested that. But Ben, please be an enthusiast coz in that way you will be accessible to amateurs guys like me to understand the machine we have in our hands. I really liked the way you put out "DO NOT treat it as a baby, ......, Kindly be hard on the machine and then machine will definitely put a smile on your face" and that's how I felt about my Himalayan when everyone around me (mostly commuter bikes & fellow KTM'ers) suggested otherwise so far. Thanks again for an another wonderful production. stay safe :)

Thanks for sharing your insight on 2021 Himalayan. I should say that it is an important revelation that you have put forth. But this opens up a pandora Box of questions, such as, (a) where is the ECU located, how to access the ECU, (b) is it possible to hook Bluetooth based OBD2 scanner to the ECU, (c) do the idling screw exists, (d) if yes, how to access it, (e) if no, how to set the idling rpm. In that case, do one needs the proprietary RE software to set the idling rpm? If possible at your end and if you are interested, please investigate it and come up with a new video. I shall be anxiously waiting for such a video which addresses these questions. Thanks anyway and keep up the good work. 👍

Hey ben, Huge fan of your works. All that you have done with the himmi and sharing those info with us is really amazing. So coming to the point, i have a 2022 himalayan which is having the stalling issue. Ok I started to notice this stalling may be only 3 months back and recently it was on all time high. I am a person who have this typical mindset that how much these SC people check our bike they would never look after our bike as we do. So most of the works on my Himalayan is done my myself(haha along with your videos 😅) changing oil, pads, clutch adjustment, meter console (silica gel😅) the list goes on and thanks for that. Problem: Stalling when the clutch is engaged at low rpm in traffic(yes i use my himmi as commuter- pls dont judge me: i like to use my himmi daily, having said this i have taken my himmi all the way from kerala to himalayas, so not always a commuter😊). Occurrence: During initial 5 km after starting the bike, himmi runs smoothly no stalling at all. After this 5 km whenever the clutch is engaged on low rpm bike stalls. Suspect: Faulty relay or my riding style has to improve or evap delete or throttle body etc….. Actions: 1. Swapped the fuel pump relay with side stand relay to check if its only the problem with a single relay(unsuccessful 😊) 2. Bought 5 relays from roots and swapped with the actual ones(unsuccessful 😊) ps: please connect with me in case you people need the same. Happy to give my fellow riders in case they are struggling with relays. 3. So understood that cause of the same issue can change from vehicle to vehicle. Watched your next video and then i changed my riding style, which was actually a but difficult as this heated up the bike. Still no improvement other than increasing the count of stalling. Seems like stalling is directly proportional to heating😊(unsuccessful 😊) 4. Two things was left one was evap delete and other is throttle body cleaning/replacement. So before i go for evap delete thought i would give RE SC a chance to correct the throttle body. To my surprise for the first time in my entire riding career the flock in SC acknowledged the issue. Told i will have to keep the himmi in SC for a day or two. I was really ok with that. Before leaving SC i asked what will be done as part of the checks. He told first he would clean the throttle body and check and then will connect with me. So the next day he called me back and informed, that cleaning the throttle body didn’t help and he has raised replacement request under warranty. I was having feeling of assurance that this would solve the issue. Next day he told bike is ready.(successful ❤) Since then I haven’t faced any issues what so ever and i have the comfortable riding style not the full on revving one 😊. Moral: If your bike is still on warranty go to SC and get the bike checked. One person’s problem might not be your problem. Don’t jump into conclusions that this will be the only cause, do trial and error method to find the cause of your issue. P.S: Sharing this long comment only because i want my fellow owners to not loose hope if one solution does not work out. Cheers Happy motoring .

Hi Ben. After watching this video, I must say this is the best video ever created or seen on youtube for the RE HIMALAYAN 2021 and 2022 as well as 2023. This is the best video of the year 2022 and 2023. I am sharing this with many HIMALAYAN users all over my state, that is, West Bengal. I have personally tried and tested this method and have become successful. Ben, salute you bro. But I have a curious question. Why is that being in a single circuit just below the seat, the problem is occuring? I need the technical explanation behind. Would you be kind enough to do so? Sudipta.

it only works when you understand throttling.... i dont agree with you. a fuel injected bike should work in any rpm with any throttle position. Thants what fuel injection is made for. if there is stalling or no constant crusing at low throttle the mapping is not right..... the driver should not adapt to a efi system, the efi system should work in any situation, otherwise the map is faulty. Thats like you tell us if a caburated bike has a to small idle jet or a to lean needle setting you should learn to ride the bike only at WOT on the main jet.... thants bullshit, sorry.

I bought a brand new 2022 Himalayan and while performing its first service I removed the tank vent line while removing tank and there was a huge release of pressure! I researched this and found that the evap system in this bike has had some issues. I continued to ride the bike and checked the vent line again and the tank was not relieving itself of pressure. I removed the bash plate and found that the line was kinked from the factory and the canister was full of fuel! I deleted the evap canister and the bike ran so much smoother! I highly suggest removing the evap system on this bike. Cheers

Hi Ben, I had same complaint and shifting isn't a problem, it should be right fuelling throughout the rpm range, I shot a mail to the company and they updated the software on my bike (may be the first one in delhi). Now it's working fine but now it's just the stalling issue left on my bike. This 3k rpm shifting can actually damage the clutch. It's a machine issue and not related to our riding style. I will share a video soon.

i dont know what to say brother. Too many novices out there with Himalayans as their first bike. Each one feels something every other day . each rider describes it differently. What i am talking about I UNDERSTAND very well. I am talking about a map that is tuned like this . It is not a fault. this map is just to aid low speed riding in city traffic conditions . and it works very well. but if you want to feel the motor all the time then you have to do what is required of you . Also shifting at 3k rpms is not detrimental to the clutch in anyways if you know HOW to shift.

Hello Ben , am one of ur subscriber and really admire all of your video and follow them. Thanx for making this video but I want to point out that am one of the 2021 owner and facing this issue. All you said was true but the bike literally lags the lower rpm power and you could easily feel it. We can't open the throttle all the time in all the terrain. Like when you do offroading and climbing hills. There u need power in lower rpm that's what the long stroke engine all about. yes, INDIAN traffic is not something that suits the Himalayan. i have been stressing on this ever since i started this channel . This motorcycle works like a charm almost everywhere i take it to , but city traffic. and yes the maps are to be blamed , they are not as precise as they are supposed to be to take on our traffic conditions but i dont complain because i use the motorcycle to do what it is intended to do.

that is not an issue . it is caliberated that way. anything less than 5 litres in the tank and the needle will show reserve . anything between 6-7.5 litres and the needle will show 1/2 tank.

How can we adapt to a new way of throttling if the skill that has been learned and used for the past 20 years ? I do face the issue of Stalling on a Himalayan which i have brought one month ago. The first service has been done and the RE mechanics have said that they have received similar feed backs regarding HImalyan BS6. Is there any way so that stalling does not happens on lower RPM's? Imagine a situation where you are riding the bike and suddenly the bike stops and a bus or a truck coming from behind have to apply a sudden brake. This happened to me recently :-) . So, RE should take this seriously and if you come to know how to mitigate this issue, it would be good to hear about that too.

Why you need to fit the 2021 throttle body ? The 2020 is better than the 2021 model. Less complexity. 2020 is almost like bs4 2019 with slight bit less power but more refined.

That’s the auto choke ( by starter kicking in ) , that’s the way the factory has mapped the fueling on the bike . You can’t do anything about it . Try your best to keep the bike running cool. Don’t let it idle for too long . Don’t lug . Don’t over rev . DONT COMMUTE TO OFFICE ON THIS . I can’t stress enough on that one factor alone . This is not a city commuter .
