I hit the nail right on the head when I found you, Becky Bailey! A friend of mine works at a Day Care Center who has to take your classes for her kids at work and home. i am a grandpa of two young beautiful kids. My oldest boy is 4, he wanted me to help him put away his leggos before his dad picked him up. I was busy making lunch, I want to feed them so they can leave home on a full tummy. My boy insisted I help him with the leggos. i opened the bag so he can put his leggos in and went back to the kitchen. He came crying for me to help hold the bag so he put the leggos in. I told him I am busy right now and that he can put the leggos in himself, you can do it. I expected him to do it himself. I told him that if he can't put the leggos in the bag himself I will be more than happy to do it for him but in the trash. This time he had a meltdown as well as I did. I got the trash can picked up the leggos into the trash can and took the trash to the garage. All he wanted is for me to help him, he loves spending time with me. He knew he was leaving home and wanted me to spend time with him. When he left I busted out crying, it hurt me so much I realized I need help! I felt my energy go out the door because of the anger I used on him. My face and body were heated with anger and guilt. I do not want my grandkids raised like I was.

You realized your mistake, that’s the most important step in the right direction. I hope you’re learning more about conscious discipline these days. Wishing you well!!

I can't thank you enough for this series of videos! I love Conscious Discipline ever since being first introduced to it at staff development day when I was a preschool teacher over five years ago now. I implemented Conscious Discipline in my classroom and it changed the atmosphere of our school family for the better. Now I am a stay at home mom and implement Conscious Discipline with my children. I love your informative videos, books and resources including your website. Thank you for all you do and share!

So if I’m stuck in never feeling safe/loved, does accepting that fact help me get into my prefrontal cortex?

The negative examples she gives sounds like a lot of teachers I know. It’s almost funny.
