Zen3rd i hate all the CW toys they always reuse molds and have terrible paint scheme. everytime when there is a new mold, they always reuse the god damn mold. there is not a single mold in CW that uses the mold only once.

I like the look of this version of Grimlock, but I'm probably going to pick him up just for the combined mode. That being said, I think the combined mode would look better if all the other Dinobots, excluding Swoop and Slash(because they're fine as is), were voyager class figures. While they're at it they could have added in Dinobot Paddles perhaps?

Actually if you got the Thrilling 30 giftset evolution 2-pack Grimlock (movie and G1), the recolored Razorclaw sword for G1 Grimlock (redecoed from Energon Grimlock) is big enough for PotP Grim (I tried it on my Titans Return Blitzwing after I lost his scimitar 😑). (By the way, I copied and pasted this from a comment for emgo)

I like to think that Grimlock ate the Enigma, which is why he can now combine with the other dinobots, hence the reason it can go in his mouth in combined mode.

something weird going on in my country on these. usually the big grim would be 30 to 33 euro but he's listed on one of our main stores as 28.99, while swoop is up for 19 which is BELOW sale price for a deluxe (usually about 26 and reduced to 21 in a sale). either way they wont be out till the end of Feb which is why ive opted for amazon.com to get em. with the exchange rate its really good now. great vid man, keep it up.

When I was a kid, I've always wanted a combiner Dinobots and have always wondered why they didnt do it since there already 5 dinobots. Finally they did it! And it looks awesome! I'm keeping this in combined-mode once all 5 is out. In Singapore, Power of the Primes is not even out yet!

I remember one of the episodes of G1 that they pitted the Dinobots with Devastator, trying to convince the Decepticons that the Dinobots were combiners. But it was just all a ruse to scare off the decepticons from teltran 1. Now that they are a combiner, I had to get them.

I would have really loved the combiner feet if Hasbro actually thought the design through. I would LOVE to have a giant tower shield that disassembles into slippers, it'd be like the Perfect Effect limbs, which are awesome! Instead we get these..THINGS which are pretty lackluster "armor" and look like they'll be even worse feet because they're so damn small. Whatever happened to Computron's feet??

Well, it does, to me, at least. It could be because the robot-mode torso has to be big enough to be a "combiner torso". I mean, Grimlocks (usually) have a smooth transition, size-wise, from how thick the neck is, to how wide the hips are. This toy doesn't have that. I mean, look at 1:39 when we see its torso from the front: There is a huge gap in size between the dino torso and the dino hips (robot-mode torso), not just from the sides, but from the front as well. On top of that, his legs seem a bit not closely enough to the body that it gives that extra bow-legged look. Definitely looks like the dino is wearing golden diapers. In my opinion, at least.

Im a bit underwhelmed by the Hasbro offerings due to the size. Im sorry but the G1 Dinobots were much larger than Optimus Prime and having Grimlock to be smaller than CW Voyager Prime is not going to be the intended scale im looking for. I didn't like the aesthetic of Fansproject's Dinobots either so I went with GCreation and I may finish out with Toyworld's Dinobots. Now I will till get these and possibly the Takara versions down the line but I wish Hasbro would give us proper sized G1 dinobots. And awesome review as always keep doing what you do. My son loves watching the ending skits btw!!

What I'm curious about is how easy it would be to swap the arms or legs between this and FoC Grimlock. The two molds look to me like they'd compliment eachother. this fills in the stomach gap. The legs from FoC would fill in the back gap. The dino legs from FoC Grimlock have a bit more mass and substance to them.

Idk about that, but I do wonder how FoC's sword would look in PotP's hand. While the combine mode feet make for an...interesting set of arm-mounted battle claws, this Grimlock really needs a fiery blade (or maybe I've played FoC a few too many times. _shrug_ ).

I'm definitely using the Arttek FoC Grimlock blaster with PotP Grimlock. Most of the weapon add-on kits from 3rd Party end up being good for later figures of the same character.
