You listen to two speakers deliver essentially the same message, one following the other. The first one puts you to sleep and the second one grabs your attention and keeps you riveted to every word. The difference? One knows how to speak powerfully and the other would benefit by knowing how. Speaking with impact is the focus of this video. Master it and capture the attention of those you address.

Excellent information! I appreciate you taking the time to make videos such as these. I am an excellent worker, but interviews haven’t always been my strong suit... This is exactly what I needed to deter my anxieties 💪🏾

Hey Madison, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. With practice and preparation you will improve - it's just a matter of time. And for motivation, remember that to get to show a new manager how great a worker you are, you first have to show them how adept you are at managing interviews. So rather than seeing the interview as "a step remotely related to employment happiness" see it as a SKILL TO MASTER that will unlock the doors to continual career happiness - because you can always rely on using it to get another great job! Once you get good at interviews, the sky's the limit! Thanks for watching, and let me know if there are other topics you want me to shoot a video on.

Great stuff! To the point and crisply delivered. Very valuable tips. The walk and the talk have to be consistent with the persona of one who is going to be successful in an interview, especially for a leadership position. I’d add that writing out one’s personal vision statement can help complete those power phrases. Thanks!

I have two suggestions: One, buy my book. I spend 10 pages on that answer alone. www.amazon.com/dp/B08FQMVPZS. Second suggestion: absolutely include in your answer a thank you, your excitement for the opportunity to have the interview, the past, present, future that you already know about (focus mostly on previous roles when you were in charge, and emphasize your soft skills of leading people, which is not common in technical people), tell them that you want the job, why you want to be in a lead role, and how you are different than your competition. Do all of that in 2 minutes or less... so no extra words! It will take some time to craft an answer like that, but you can do it. 2 minutes sounds really short, but look at a clock - silently - for 2 minutes. It's longer than you think, and long enough for you to deliver a great answer. I'm here if you need more help.
