Just took a closer look and my light isn’t centered in that hole so some of the light may not be coming out. Haven’t had a chance to try new batteries yet though.

You can unscrew the base to realign or fix whatever issues you're having with it. But it does light up much brighter.

Alpha 5 actually came with the Power Dome (Command Center) playset that Bandai made available for the original Automorphin' Figure line. But, yeah. He was never made available single-carded. I always wanted one too. Thanks for the review!

Went to 3 Walmarts, all of which supposedly had these in stock. All 3 had the shelf tag up, associates were able to confirm they had 4 SOMEwhere in the store, but the shelf was empty.

There was an alpha 5 figure in the original toy line it came with the quote-unquote power dome which was their version of the command center

I just went to my local Wal-mart today. They had 5 of these on the shelves. No price tags. They must have just put them out. I was unaware they were coming out with this pack... and then I looked up on my phone they were $29.95 , Wal-mart exclusive, and they were out of stock online. They also seemed to be going for about $90 on third party sites. So I of course grabbed a pack. :')

That's the thing with Wal-Mart exclusives nowadays. The scalpers tend to strike first on these kind of things (I got my set yesterday when there were two left), and the fact that Wal-Mart's website does not implement a quantity limit per person (as well as the fact that people have said their shipping is horrible, as they got their toys in damaged condition) has pretty much peeved a lot of toy collectors off from shopping there.

@@jeremyriley1238 Yeah, I haven't had much luck with other Wal-mart exclusives... like the Real Ghostbusters re-releases., WWE Masters of the Universe, and Gigawatt the Back to the Future transformer. So when I saw Alpha and Zordon on the shelf, and realized that they were sought after, I made sure to grab a set then and there. I went back to the same Wal-mart today and they were sold out of them. Granted they only had 4 left after I bought my set, but it came as no surprise.

I do remember alpha 5 being black to from the TV show but I think they just repainted him as blue not so much the Mendla effect

False .. there was an alpha figure back in the day he came exclusive to the power dome play set .. and he was released with a tiny zordon in the 2010 run .

I think they could have taken an artistic liberty and went the boom comics route. Make him a full on floating head in a tank. So if you rotated the figure 360 degrees you would just have a floating 360 degree head. No face coming out of a wall.

You arent wrong about Alpha's colors, however Alpha's designs has changed throughout the seasons. This look is a mmpr season 1 look, atleast once the green ranger arc began. Underneath the armor and pads, the spandex the actor wears is black. However, the arms were blue. and yea the hands are missing some colors and such. But not a bad alpha at all. Best one we've had.

The first season or seasons Alpha 5 had really dark blue almost black. Later on he had those colors. I think I’ll repaint mine and weather some parts. As for Zordon I think I’ll add a brighter light and add it. To see if it comes out better. I’m glad we got a good Alpha 5.

Your comment on the color of Alpha5 is correct and not. In the movie the neck was black but in the show it was blue. For the overall blue it was the lightning in the base that made it look darker. When he was out of the base it matched this color.

The only time you ever see Alpha with his Teddy Bear is in the Command Center in the very first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. And after that, you don't ever see it again in the series. Maybe it's because Alpha spiked it onto the floor of the Command Center and jumped on it after Zordon told him to teleport a group of teenagers with additude?

It needs more paint. I don't know why the chest lightning bolt is painted, but not the other yellow details. I would assume that would be done with the same stencil. Disappointing.

I was really hoping Hasbro would've fixed the color of the legs, black with purple pearlecent armor pads! This is the best alpha we've gotten and it's such a disappointment when the paint is that half assed... it still looks amazing but disappointing!

Can't stand the lack of paint apps in this line - on Alpha and Zordon's face. Those letters on Zordon's forehead are outrageous. Also wish Alpha had a slot in his back to put in a disc like the Green Ranger used on him in the Command Center.

Alpha's head should be wider/ more stretched out like a flying saucer . It's too small and roundish. Zordon's light is pathetic. I've seen dollar store toys light up brighter. Did they not bother painting Alpha's gloves red, and are the buttons on Alphas chest supposed to unpainted? They both look wired. I think I'll stick to the BAN DAI Alpha they released a few years ago that came with a tiny Zordon. The Teddy Bear is a cute touch. I had the small Alfa PVC figure growing up, and made my own Zordon with a can of shaving cream and aluminum foil. I think there was a command center that came with a Alfa, and a Zordon back in the 90s.
