Notes: This three-parter acted as a backdoor pilot for the 1995-1996 TV show Masked Rider. Repellator is a recolored version of Silver Horns with a long tongue added. Each of the Plague Patrol members are repainted and hybrid versions of other Power Rangers monsters with horned helmet-engraved heads and furry padding added onto them: Plague Patrol #1 - Plague Patrol #1 has a generic body, the stinger-like ponytail and boots Scorpina's Giant Scorpion Form from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with the hands of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger cat monster Bakeneko (unused in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season Three). This has always been one of my favourite storylines of MMPR. Kim is a trooper for still fighting despite being sick! I think part of me interpreted the morphing process as the costume becoming part of the body, hence Kim rubbing her mask where her nose is, etc.

Power rangers actually did the first crossover episodes with Kamen Rider (Masked Rider) before Sentai did with Decade and Shinkenger crossover episodes. .

That wasn't Sentai footage, anything involving Count Dregon actually comes from Kamen Rider technically Kamen Rider RX to be specific. I think the writers were just being nice to Zordon this season to make him more likable to the ones that were hating on him. Nicki has a point regarding Billy I mean remember he was so smart that Zordon sent him and Trini to repair the 5 Thunderzords in White Light with any guidance they needed from Alpha. to be fair Kamen basically means Mask anyway so at least Masked Rider wasn't a bad adapted name, even Sailor Moon did it with their Tuxedo Kamen but they just adapted it as the straight translation of Tuxedo Mask. I'm disappointed that no one said anything about the Plague Patrol, some parts of them are original but a lot of them come from various Zyuranger, Dairanger and Kakuranger villain suits. 40:55 pretty sure that might be the Monstermatic which I believe is in the wrong area for its only time in new footage. Not quite, Monty, the Masked Rider show doesn't even use anything from these episodes other than the Plague Patrol, King Lexian, Edenoi, Dex, Dex's friends and the fact that Count Dregon wants the Masked Rider powers. Masked Rider had 2 seasons and 40 episodes

The thing I hated about this is that after this 3 parter Masked Rider is never mentioned in power rangers nor is the power rangers referenced in Masked Rider. I mean all they would have to is on a passing TV have a news broadcast that has footage of the other show.

I hope you guys realize that the closing credit to all the PR seasons in the Zordon era from now contain bloopers and deleted scenes. Notices the incidental music is very different from the last two seasons, so no more reused music (except the Power Ranger theme). Completely new music composition for the rest of the season and onward. PS: This three-parter is not to be confused with VR Trooper episode *A Friend in Need*

When Kim gets ready to fight Repelator is it me or does she sound stuffed up when she says Pteradactyal? Also the out of order sequence for summoning the thunderzords threw me for a loop. Also Repelator is just a repaint of Silverhorns from The Power Transfer with a tongue added

Even tho I don’t wanna watch Masked Rider after reading the synopsis of the first episode but I enjoyed this 3 parter it was different, the fights were good imo & they were teamed up with Kamen rider essentially 😂. Kimberly held it down even while sick she still put up a good fight ,Kamen Rider dragon Knight is the only Kamen rider thing I’ve seen I ain’t seen the Sentai versions yet

I love the way you guys are throwing shade at the beginning of Season 3. The footage of Dregan and some footage of Dax fighting is from Kamen Rider Black RX Plus, some of the music cues are later on used for Digimon

"It's like we went back in time" We sure did. Black RX's footage was already 7 years old when MMPR Season 3 came out. The Shein Tusken Raiders in these episodes too tho... So, about Power Rangers not using "Sentai". Sentai basically translates to "Task Force". So all the seasons that use "Force" in them technically do use a Sentai naming scheming. Which is 5 of them plus a spinoff, which is more than you'd think. Monster of the Week also looks like it would fit in Wild Force. It screams Org. Yeah, Masked Rider was horrible... Full season reaction when? :P Just kidding. It's kinda funny that the original plan was for Tommy to migrate to VR Troopers and lead there. So at one point Saban would have had three on going shows in the same universe as each other. We would have had 3 bad guys trying to take over the Earth at the same time and minimal crossover episodes because there was no source footage and they would be too stingy to commit even if the other series didn't flop.

Dex's Kamen Rider counterpart actually impaled his opponents with his sword as a finishing move. The US footage changed it to a poorly edited alternate method of attack. The Plague Patroller costumes were cobbled together from pieces of old/unused monster suits. This whole crossover seemed pretty pointless, especially considering the Masked Rider series removed any connection to PR in its opening episodes.

The energy of this episode is like the Rangers getting tricked to going to a Timeshare Presentation, and Dex keeps busting out the Powerpoint Presentation. Man, I remember as a kid this event annoyed me so much, the color grading was so bad, making the vibrant colors look muted and ugly. If I could have edited this episode, I would have done something interesting with Kim on Earth, like imagine if they just let her borrow and Pilot the Red Dragon Thunderzord in Warrior Mode, with a special spot of her in the Cockpit piloting it. That would have been so sick. Maybe even a side-story too where Bulk and Skull help her, man, imagine if they had the Warthog and Featherdactyl Bulk and Skull Ranger designs already, and it was Kim, Bulk and Skull vs this Monster for a 1-time only unlikely team-up. I suspect this episode may have been shot later in the season and placed at the beginning, hence Kimberly isn't in the same scenes with the others un-morphed, and both Bulk and Skull were always wearing head coverings in this episode.

​​@@johnnymarrero8011 The villains being so goofy this season holds it back for me. I just find it really cringe and unimpressive. I much prefer the serious nature of the villains. Also it doesn't match up when the rangers are trying to take it seriously and then Zedd shows up in their base being comedic & same when Katherine is afraid of being turned evil while zedd and Rita act goofy. But Goldar fighting Jason in green with evil & green candle? Now that was amazing imo & I took that seriously because they took it seriously.

@@johnnymarrero8011 Master vile was the sinister one but seeing him on the floor crying like a baby at the end of alien rangers intro part 2 kinda ruined it. You'd never see the villains do that in S1 or early S2. Except for maybe baboo and squat. But even they didn't do that. The cliffhanger to Zeo was a dark one but like I said too many goofy villain moments for it to be my favourite.

this is the season where they FINALLY ran out of Super Sentai ZyuRanger and Dairanger footage and the footage from KakuRanger didn't have a pink ranger. And unfortunately the show Masked Rider tried too hard to appeal to a younger audience.

They never used all the footage for any of the 3 sentai. They were just selective, moreso in S2 and S3. In S1, they tried to use a lot more but still didn't use completely everything they could have. There was at least 1 ground fight from Zyu Ep 31 and the 2nd chunky chicken megazord fight that was left unused.

Also, Part 1 featured the debut of The Masked Rider. Also, Part 2 did featured The Masked Rider and the Power Rangers fighting against the Cogwarts, Also, Kimberly did face off against the Repellator. Also, The Funny Moment was when Kimberly Sneezed on Repellator. Also, Both the Thunder Megazord and The Tigerzord Warrior Mode did use their finishing attacks to take care of Repellator. Also, A Question for you and Nicki, Is the Repellator Monster Similar to the Silver Horns Monster from Season 2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?
