I hope it solves the problem for you, it's a far too nice watch not to wear. Thanks for getting in touch.

Did your second hand have intermitted stops and goes and act like a quartz action that needed a new battery even though it was an automatic?
@StuartLomas4 жыл бұрын
No, that was not an issue for me but sounds like a problem with your main spring perhaps, if it is not holding enough power, the result may be intermittent seconds registering.

Hi Stuart fantastic video, I am planning on buying this watch pre-owned, might you know what year they stopped making this model and went to the ceramic, as I do prefer the pre ceramic. Was it just your model say a certain year that has this problem or could it be all models of this watch? I like the co-axial movement as well was it pre ceramic do you know?
@StuartLomas7 жыл бұрын
scriner11 Hi, thanks for replying. In answer to your questions, there has been a couple of windibding issues with the Seamaster, initially on the early versions which had the 1109 movement (pre 1996) then the 1120 movement was then fitted & the auto wind movement started showing itself on watches of 8 years+ old. Omega started using the ceramic insert in 2006 instead of aluminum & the Co-axial Movement was first seen. for me, my design which is a 2001 is the best looking & as you know, it is known as the true BOND Watch even though Brosnan's watch worn in GoldenEye was a Quartz, he did move to auto after that. Hope this helps. I am sure you will love it when you get one, try to get papers & any documents showing any work. Cheers my friend.

Hello Stuart, thank you very much for an informative video, I really like your channel with great content. I purchased the Omega Seamaster 300 Pro from an AD last month just before the price increase in the UK on the 6th of March. I am looking forward to your updates from Basel, I am wondering what new releases Omega and Rolex will have. Have a safe and pleasant trip to Basel.

I guess that is what should be happening to my vintage family bequeathed Citizen Chrono automatic caliber 8110 from1980 which only had a minor service 5 years ago, although the watch has only been worn may be less than half of his life (circa 17 years) that is a considerable span of time for a mechanical watch and though it keeps wonderful time the power reserve is down to less than 6 hours.

Hi Mario, soundfs like a simillar issue to what I was experiencing, I suppose if it is not annoying you then its not an issue but if like me it becomes and issue then its worth getting it looked at. My watch maker only charges for the parts and a little time @ £50 bill.
@mariosiaven29657 жыл бұрын
kind of an annoyance although I keep it in a winder when not worn but sometimes I think I have to give it a rest poor thing amongst my other newer pieces.

Is this a quartz seamaster? I have the same problem though i dont know if it where the same thing.
@StuartLomas6 жыл бұрын
paolo de pablo Hi, no its the automatic, you don't have power reserve issues with quartz due to it running on battery power.
@paulodepablo36496 жыл бұрын
Stuart Lomas I see. Though if you have any info about the quartz watch about its hand getting stuck on any time whenever it is un used i would appreciate it.
@paulodepablo36496 жыл бұрын
Stuart Lomas though it has been years since the battery was changed. There are no damage internally though it stops from time to time so i have to set the time for it to move again.
@StuartLomas6 жыл бұрын
paolo de pablo I would suggest changing the battery as good practice it should be changed about every 3 yes as in addition to them losing power they can, if you are unlucky the leak & the small amount if acid can adversely affect the quartz movement. So change battery asap and that may solve your issues, if it foes not, get a watchmaker to clean the contacts and inside the case.
@paulodepablo36496 жыл бұрын
Stuart Lomas okay. I got the batteries replaced days ago. I hope that cleaning it would be enough otherwise i'll have to get it serviced to my local Omega store which asks for x2 the amount of a local watch repairman. I was fortunate enough to recieve this watch from my parents. as a young man i am a bit tight in my budget. I often relly on wrist watches as a form of knowing what time it is. Anyways thanks for the advice. I'll make sure of it that this watch will in fact survive.

Can I ask why you just didn't send it in for a full service at Omega? Enjoy at Basel, I did check out the Hotel price for there, but it was nuts, they wanted about 800 Euros a night. I will watch it on KZbin this year.

Stephen Grant-Davies Hu Stephen, my local watchmaker services my watches at a very small % of Omega. Hotels in Basel are crazy hence I am doing budget airline & AirBnB. I will do my best to enjoy. Thanks for getting in touch.
