Hey everyone! Let me know if your steering feels smoother and if your power steering pump stopped making noises. Feel free to leave a tip 😊💲VENMO: @GarageDynamics

Proper way to do this is a complete flush job which is real easy to do. Just adding fresh fluid into the reservoir only is not the way to do it when theres a ton more of dirty fluid down in the long hoses and inside the steering rack. Sure its better than doing nothing but not the way. Complete Flush is a easy DIY anyway.

Simple, straight forward, and using the right power steering fluid. Anyone can do this one. Well done sir!

Don't you have to disconnect the return line hose to get rid of old fluid while turning the steering wheel end to end?
@GarageDynamics Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. You can remove most of the old fluid in two cleaning cycles.
@mikeb1039 Жыл бұрын
yes, this was half done
@heirau77 Жыл бұрын
how about the liquid in the hoses? mixing old and new together is not a good idea either. raise the front wheels, suck out the fluid, remove return hose and block the reservoir side, then fill the reservoir, turn the wheels until you see new fluid from the hose. then reconnect the hose to reservoir and refill to proper fill. you're welcome.
@yolo-cars8 ай бұрын
I agree. I think you either have to repeat this process multiple times until the fluid in the reservoir is like new OR you could disconnect the return line. I'm going to change my PS fluid in my car soon, and I'll disconnect the return line. Also people say it's good idea to replace the reservoir too since it has internal filter. I may get a new reservoir as well.

Is a Mercedes Benz A001989240310 multi grade oil good for transmission oil change for a e550 2012 4matic sedan ? I changed my oil and the car won't move again forward or backwards after shifting gears successfully. I hope I have not damaged my transmission if at all replacing the oil completely may be able to correct/reverse anything wrong with the car ? Please advise 🙏 urgently

Do you have to do multiple drain and fills to get all of the power steering fluid? thanks
@GarageDynamics2 жыл бұрын
Hello Adonis Castillo, It all depends on how well you remove the fluid out. The reservoir has multiple compartments that the fluid sits in, so be sure to move the hose around and get inside of every corner to remove as much fluid as possible. If you do this, then one drain will be enough. But it wouldn't hurt to do a second drain I'm sure. I hope this helps. Cheers!

I just completed this job and I found it to be easy. Thank you for the training video and encouragement. I am grateful to of unlocked this skill. I should add that I heard a buzzy sound in my steering wheel at first but that went away after I did some more turning of the wheel with an uncapped reservoir. Can you use this method of fluid exchange for brake fluid and coolant as well? I like methods that don't require me to lift the car in anyway
@GarageDynamics2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome Mota Man! I'm glad to hear the good news! You are very welcome. I'm glad to be of service :) It is possible to use the same method for removing coolant, but not for a complete flush of brake fluid. You can only remove the brake fluid in the reservoir with this method. However, the old fluid will still remain in the brake lines. I hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks for making these videos. Well appreciated but I wanted to put down comment. The reservoir does have a filter so watch out if you put a hose in there to not break it... The whole reservoir is actually a replacement item when doing the fluid.

aproximitly how much fluid did you remove, do you remember? I've just done that in my W203, the m271 engine, and i Suck about 300ml of fluid, and poure the same amonth + 20/30ml more as It was below max on cold 20 degrees. Now I don't know if I did remove all of this or what? I pour synthetic dedicated mercedes benz, transparent greenish and before I don't know what it was in the car as I don't know what other owner put, it was brownish used, but I clean cloth show yellow to green also How many fluid did you remove? Please tell me, did I good. Steering is fluid no bad behavior, little force still need to be used compare to newer cars that u can finger move but i think its just the typical for the cars from this years, am I right?
@GarageDynamics Жыл бұрын
Hello Arc, I performed the procedure in a similar method. The best thing to do is make sure the fluid is at the correct level. It is typical for cars from our year to have more solid steering. I hope this helps. Cheers!

Great to see another one! Thanks for your insight! still the most accurate mechanic videos on you tube. big up! Quick question i have a w220 2003, and I changed my power steering pump, and now the car wont start, lol, do you know of any possibilities i might want to start with? Note: after i changed it, it started for about a minute then spuddered out then wouldnt start at all. Before that, it was running fine for abt 3 months after sitting up for abt 3 years, i just changed the fuel pump and filter to get it running, and it was running fine until i changed the power steering pump, but im not sure if its a clogging issue due to the old black (glue like) gas that night have been in the fuel line?... That was my first thought but the problem with 'that' is, it was running fine before i decided to change the power steering pump. if this rings any bells, i would appreciate any advice you can offer. as it would help me and other people who might have a similar issue. if you see this, thanks in advance
@GarageDynamics2 жыл бұрын
Hello Napalm Spears! You're very welcome! Thank you for your kind words!!! There are a lot of factors at play here. If the power steering pump is clogged/jammed in anyway then that could be a possibility for your engine not to run. I would remove and reinstall the power steering pump, and upon installation, just double check that everything is installed properly. I'd also check to see if there were any wires that were loose or disconnected. The fuel line clog could be a possibility, but I'd start with the PS pump and make sure that's installed correctly and that the pump is working as well. I hope this helps. Cheers!

This is not a change. This is child’s play IMHO. the system has about 1.2 liters total. To flush or change it, you need about 3 liters total. But other than that, good video without any fluff.
