That long reach has a foot pedal in the back and you pump that up to get the height of the Jack there faster and then you use the Jack handle

Ive used this on 6qt, 4qt, 5qt, oil cars. It is messy not big deal. and on all three cars there was only a slither of oil left in oil pan. So it does get most of the oil .

I have the mitutoyo calipers. They are s 20 years old. Still work perfect. I have been a machinist for 38 year's. Have their mics, indicators. Telescope gauges. They make great tools. Harbor freight is crap

Harbor freight is a fantastic value, it’s a bridge between the cheap Chinese products and the expensive American, German and Japanese tools. They’re affordable and last great. You’re just a elitist nerd.

Would it be possible to run the car without the exhaust system under daily bases? 🤔 or are there sensors that get confused?
@GarageDynamics
@GarageDynamics 19 күн бұрын
Hi cyani32, I wouldn't because one of the flanges that connects the down pipes to the exhaust will just slide off. It's not a big deal, because you can just remove it. But the other flange can't be removed and it will just rattle. I think if you buy another flange and bolt it to the loose flange, to prevent it from rattling then you could run it without an exhaust. You could also take the flange from the side that can be removed and just bold it to the other flange and then that way you wouldn't have to buy a new flange. There are no sensors on the exhaust. They are all before the second set of cats I believe.

I have the same Harbor Freight calipers (bought around the same year). I also have 6-inch Mitutoyos for work (which have been home since the start of the pandemic). I find the HF ones do burn through batteries a lot faster than the Mitutoyos (which last a crazy long time). There is also a slight lag on screen update on the HF ones. Not enough to get in the way of taking measurements, but slow enough to be noticeable. From a professional use perspective, my Mitutoyos have a dated, signed calibration certification sticker on the back. At ISO 9001 certified companies I’ve worked at, that is a hard requirement for any measurement devices. Japanese Kaizen is about improving processes (such as the manufacturing processes used to manufacture calipers). It’s not really about making changes to products.
@GarageDynamics
@GarageDynamics 19 күн бұрын
JonS, Thank you so much for sharing your insight and knowledge. I'm definitely not taking away anything from Mitutoyo. Their calipers are great. I just wish we got more for our money. I was also surprised to see the Harbor Freight caliper do so well. Yes, that's true, Kaizen is about improving the processes within the companies manufacturing processes, but that should also lead to an overall better product too?
